Made a new coil, a carbon copy of my previous, successful build. 5 wrap micro coil (counting the legs) 0.54 Ohms. Working GREAT, no leaking after a few hours of use/sitting on my desk. No flooding at all this time either. I'm not sure how I dodged that bullet but I'll take what I can get. It's full of Foxy Fuel from vapetrik. Deeeee-licious!

Now here's a buncha photos that I hope people find useful. I didn't get the coil exactly above the air hole, but it's close enough that I can't detect a difference/loss in flavor or vapor production.

It's all in the lens. I got a great deal on the lens I use for these photos. It's a used Micro Nikkor 60mm, the older one. I never would have been able to afford a brand new one, not on my fixed-income.

I've seen macro lens adapter-type doohickeys for iPhones though. I had to give up my cell phone to cut costs so I don't know how well/IF they work.

i need a better camera then my iphunk v4

Nice Digs!
Did ya put the o ring back on the chimney cap? I've tried it without and had a mini Niagara going! Only on my 2nd "successful" build, but it gets finicky every once and a while... :what:

The little o-ring at the top of the chimney? It's there. I've never removed it.
If you mean the larger one that surrounds the build well....I've never used it successfully.
I don't even know for sure where it went.

Yeah, the build well one. Gonna try again with thicker cotton and no o ring... Hope I don't go over the falls again :sly:

Yeah that's the tricky part. You want the cotton to juuust fill the coil when dry and fluffy. It will expand quite a bit when it gets the joose. So it's better to err on the side of "not enough" rather than "too much," if that makes sense.

It also sucks that you won't really know if you've got it dead-on until you've filled the whole tank.

Not that it needs more views, but I've read back a few dozen posts and didn't notice any vertical coil builds on the Fogger V2... I've blogged my technique if anyone's interested. Since there's no liquid flow control, I still have problems getting it "just right" every time. Flooding is rare, and dry pulls are occasionally needed depending on how far the chimney is screwed in. I've had better luck without the clear o-ring around the build deck, but I did get it to work a couple of times. Anyways, food for thought.

You didn't read back far enough...

Got a Russian, got a Taifun, got a kayfun, also have a cheap fogger and a cheap rocket, now for the results :2c:

Best: Fogger by far (vertical 28awg coil & hemp fiber)
2nd: Rocket (same setup)
3rd: Taifun "
4th: Russian "
5th: Kayfun
Nothing beats the fogger with hemp & a vertical coil.

You know I really hate to say it, because she is such a finicky girl, but I have all of those also (Taifun hasn't arrived yet though) and the Fogger gives me the best flavor out of all of them.

I've got a Taifun cloney clone from slowtech shuffling it's way to me. I like the way it looks, but I'll be surprised if it's better than the Fogger. For all it's quirks and (worse) the QC issues some folks have had, it really IS the best vape I've had. Better than the Ithaka clone, which I'm kind of disappointed with. I've done everything "right" with the Ithaka, and while I get no dry hits or flooding, the flavor and vapor is weaksauce.

I still consider myself a "genesis guy" though. Just because I've got so many. But with the Squape, Arnold, and Aqua tanks, that could change. I understand gennies and how/why they work, because you can SEE everything. There's black arts to finding a build that works for these bottom-coil/submerged coil doo-dads. But when they do work, it really is WOW!!! :)

My SQuape arrived Friday, here i am today looking at = squape-broken.jpg
So, i just .... ignore the SQuape a few more days. There is some *.de selling pyrex replacements... Guess i have to fire up Chrome, since it auto translates. Till then, my v2 Fogger DW set up, is GREAT. It is on its third tank, no leaks. I also set up a Bliss today, awesome.I am also a "genesis guy". But like a device in my pocket that wont LEAK.

That BITES. I guess I shoulda mentioned, for the sake of full disclosure, that I'm referring to clones of all the atomizers I mentioned previously. No way can I afford the "real deal." I've got clones of the Bliss, Steam Turbine, Taifun GT, and Pulse-G coming from FT.

Along with Poldiac and Maraxus clones for giggles. I have VERY low expectations for the Poldiac clone. I'm anticipating a half-functional, chrome-plated, uber tacky Bolt from the Poldiac clone. The Maraxus clone, however goofy it looks, is getting pretty positive reviews.....

But who knows when they'll actually show up. A few of those were intended as xmas gifts; I placed the order in the middle of November. Oh well.....

I finally got around to building my fogger..

I put it aside at first cause I was ...... the positive post spins feely and made it hard to catch the wire

27g 1.6mm ID micro, 9 wraps... Cotton wick....not sure of ohms

I got a little flooding on the first fill but this thing is great, using 100% VG WTA and I've yet to experience random flooding or dry hits... My kayfuns have hard time with this thick juice...

Fogger has been my go to Atty for work.. I drive a tractor trailer all day and this thing has been amazing. Going to get another one.
