With that much wick, by popular votes, you just want to bundle it up entirely inside the chamber and definitely avoid using that silicone ring. I did a wool build right before my struggle with SS mesh, and it was just fine at lower ohmage than yours.

And finally nailed a stable SS mesh build that I'm LOVING. Thing hits very clean and like a truck, plus refreshing wick/coil is a bliss unlike anything else.

Pretty sure the oring is only needed with mesh wicks.

A little ball/pill shape of cotton does just as well, or if you're using full thickness wick you don't really need anything.

I've cut the thickness down to avoid the mesh causing the coil to hot leg at positive post.

EDIT: actually, for SS wicks that silicone chimney ring seems to be essential. So far flow is still very good, but no coil discrepancies and I'll put my money on it really preventing leaks.

Yeah the oring basically just fills the holes and seals up any open spots to due to a not perfectly round wick.

Hi, last night a made a new coil (I used the Pooh method from here by Todd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-tPZxmKbI0&feature=youtube_gdata_player) and I used 2mm EkoWool and 32awg with 6 coils and I got 2.1 ohms. Now when I put it back together I got massive vapor clouds (tasty) and then after about 10 puffs it turned to a burnt taste (with it on the same settings that I was getting the massive vapor clouds and great taste. I didn't get no dry hits it was just a constant burnt taste. I then lowered the volts and I got less vapor but it was still giving me a burnt taste. The ejuice I'm using is by Johnson Creek, it's called "Domestic". It's 2.4% Nicotine and 100% VG.

I am not liking having to change coils every 5 hours.

I just don't understand why it's burning the coils up. I start out on low volts (about 3.6 volts and work my way up) when I get to 4.8 volts that seems like the sweet spot, it will work great then it starts tasting burnt. I turn down the volts and I still get the burnt taste. If I let it sit for 2 hours and try it again the burnt taste is gone but then again after 10 puffs or so the burnt taste is back.

Is there another RBA with a tank that you can see that is easy to work on and something that is half the weight of the Fogger? What about the Kracken RBA? I think I'm going to sell this Fogger.... I have it included with a Vea starter kit in the classified section.

If anyone knows of some good YouTube videos that will help me that will be awesome! The only ones I can find are in a foreign language...

Kayfuns/Russians are your only real bet, if you want something otherwise similar. Kraken is a Genesis-style, so I don't think it fares very well with being pocketed without splitting some juice like the RSST and all the other ones.

Sounds like you need more juice flow, especially given you're using VG. I'd try tucking the wicks completely inside against the channels and then doing some dry pulls to help get the juice in there. That or cut your juice with some PG to reduce its viscosity.

Worst comes to worst, try to build with SS mesh. Thus far, mesh build seems to be extremely reliable and easy enough to clean.

Hi, what kind of Cotton are you using? This is all I have right now.... IMG_20140209_170332.jpg

This just ain't so, I own em all, KF,R91,Aqua, TF et al, my vertical coil hemp fiber filled fogger v2 still my most reliable, best tasting RBA, no leaks ever, clouds & no dry burn
Here's a pic of a well broken in build:

Here is my build from last night, it worked fine for a few vapes then it started to taste burnt again. I'm still getting plenty of vapor but omg it tastes horribly burnt.

Do you think the Kayfun lite plus would be better for me and the juice I use (100% vg Domestic flavor from Johnson Creek, if I could find some ejuice that was similar that had some pg in it from another company I would switch)...

One more question, do you count the half wraps of wire that goes to the posts as a full coil? If so then this build is 6 coils of 32awg kanthal around 2mm of twix wicks (it's EkoWool with cotton in the middle). I got a 2.1 resistance on this build.

When I finish this tank off I'm going to clean my Fogger v3 and put it up for sell.IMG_20140207_00194310699001.jpgIMG_20140211_211820-1759406450.jpgIMG_20140207_00194310699001.jpgIMG_20140211_211820-1759406450.jpg

The fogger has better wicking n juice flow than the kayfun / russian. I use 100% vg. A single 2mm wick is a little too big for the juice slots what i do with ekowool is to fold back stands of the ekowool to allow some juice flow. If you don't do that little to no juice will get inside the cup. Also you want to see a air bubble after each hit or two which is a sign that juice is entering the cup and feeding your wick with juice.

I have two foggers, Taifun GT, GS, a Kayfun light+, and a 3.1. I use a ribbon micro coil @1.2 ohms, and cotton in my Kayfuns, I do like my Foggers, but for high VG juice (which I prefer) the Kayfuns are my go to! no where near the dry hits of the others, taste is very close, much less fiddly, takes me under a minute to re-wick, if filled correctly no flooding, no leaking. Take the plunge, buy a $30 knock off of the KFL+ you won't be sorry.

I'll keep my foggers, Gennies, drippers, and all the rest, but overall, ease of build, flavor, convenience it is damn hard to beat a Kayfun, or clones there of. If you can find one of the new gen light+ clones (Tobeco) with the adjustable 510 its even better.

The clones can't be as good as the original can it?

My real one is machined a bit nicer, but $90 dollars nicer, not so sure about that, blindfolded it would be difficult, if not impossible to tell the difference. I have a $13 rocket which does as well as my $130 KFL+. Is a guy on FeeBay selling real ones with good feedback. Hard to find a vendor with them in stock.

First, you have to master coil building & wicking, or you'll have the same problem no matter what you buy.
1.) The coil looks mighty close to the base, you sure there's no hot spots?
2.) Tighten up the coils (less spacing between wraps) a bit
3.) The wick might be pinching at the channel slots, not letting juice in, when you open it up is the wick dry?

Nah, the wick stays wet... It's not hitting the floor but I do need to tighten the coils up.

So about the Kayfun lite plus clone, I have seen one for 30 bucks and one for 60 bucks (different manufacturer's) which one is the best? Is it just as heavy as The Fogger v3? I think I would have better luck with it because you have unrestricted access to the posts, seems very easy to rewick (for me). Any links someone can post? ;-)
