Lots of rain here the past few days. I revisited the peonies again and found this bud ready to burst out
These quality of this photo is bad but the subject was awesome! That little gremlin is a newborn fawn. I have never seem one in my 46 years on this planet but we spotted this one little while ago while out on a night golf cart ride down on the golf course. We saw the mommy and were spotlighting the woods around her cause the does are always in a pair. We saw those tiny eyes at ground level, so i went in for a closer look and found that little beauty. My kids were freaking out. The mommy deer kept a watchful eye on us from about 100 feet away.
This was mommy . Very alert and ready to protect her baby. I think she knew we would never hurt her baby or her, that's why she let us peek at her little miracle from so close we could have touched it.

I had the same thing happen to me at my work. Happens to be a golf course as well. Check this out.
One of the golfers touched it so a coworker rubbed some grass on it to try and remove their scent. Luckily momma came back and got her but usually touching a newborn deer leaves them to be abandoned. Got lucky this time.

Still taking a lot of macro shots. This is one I took a few days ago. A daring jumping spider.
While visiting my daughter and her family in South Africa I kept a journal. Every morning I woke up before everyone, made coffee and went out to the courtyard to write, sip and smoke and find my bliss in the quiet of the morning, alone.
I just ran across this photo I made one of those morning and it brought back lots of memories but the greatest thought coming from this is photo is how I was slowly killing myself and how much better off I am now and how much better I feel. This photo was made in 6/28/2010. I quit smoking roughly 3 months later.
The lighter has the South African flag on it.

Very nice set of photographs. May i ask what processing is being used in "Art Walk, Fullerton, Ca" to get that effect? Software?
