I have found with these rta clones in general that the airholes have debris in them from the machining process. The Chinese do a great job at cloning but their finish work is not that great. Take something metal like a paper clip, something a little smaller than the air channels and make sure its all clear.
Nope. I've had mine apart. No debris or clogging with the air flow pathway. Just something is messed up somewhere.

I've heard people compare the draw to a taifun gt2 or kayfun 4....mines no where near that open... Not even close.

I'll most likely wait until I either find a deal on a second clone or wait until the 2nd revision is cloned. Larger juice feed holes and hopefully a air flow path capable of a real draw.

On both my Gems, the air control was too loose. It was an easy fix by putting a longer piece of o-ring on it to make it tighter. Also is there supposed to be an o-ring on the top cap where it meets the top of the chimney? Mine does not have any. I put one there just for the heck of it.

There should be a problem with your Gem. Mine has an airflow very close to KF V4 that I have and a tad less than GT2 that I had. Not sure about GT2 since I don't have one now. But I just compared Gem and KF V4.

I am having an issue with mine, the short screw from the deck keeps spinning and spinning and never tightens but i dont know if it is a deck problem or a screw one.
I had the same problem with mine. I put a piece of 0.5mm Kanthal ribbon in the hole and screwed the screw back in tight. Unscrew it a little bit and trim the ribbon ff the ribbon flush with the hole and you shouldn't have any more issues with tightening.

Thanks to Qorax video about SS Mesh on youtube I had the best result using Gem vs. V1,V2,KGD,and Rayon. I was not happy with the flavor. It was good but not as some other RTAs I have. Using SS mesh and a tiny piece of Rayon at top of the vertical U channel (used to vape 70% PG), it gave a fantastic flavor with no leak and a mild gurgling at the beginning that disappeared. On my second week with mesh vaping NETs, needed few dry burns.
