Getting Pulled over (with a happy ending)

If it is one thing I have learned from vaping and living in Nebraska... expect cops to never be upfront and nice. (Especially when it pertains to drugs.)

I have been stopped way too many times because they thought I had some sort of pipe in my hand, and I don't expect that to stop for a very long time.

Sorry that the officers in our area was so rough with you, kind of tarnishes our reputation... but im sure they didn't really mean any harm. We just have a lot of drug running up here, so they don't give any slack.

Maybe it might be because I live in Missouri...Who knows

I've been vaping in public anywhere and anytime I feel like it
for over 4 years now. Not 1 person has ever told me that I shouldn't
vape. Of, course I use a black eGo...which obviously is part of the equation.
However (in my opinion) I don't get hassled because I do not give the impression
that I feel guilty or should sneak around the corner to vape. I don't care what
others might think or say...I guess that comes across in my body language.

I'm not defiant...I'm not angry...I'm not hiding...I just don't care what others
might think about me vaping. I don't care if they suck their thumb either.
So it all works both ways
:2cool:

Were you in a big truck, Hittman? If so, you weren't terribly surprised DOT acted like this with "a tip" from another driver, were you? Riding a 40-ton-land-missile, means a whole other set of rules/rights is applicable. Many of those rules are ridiculous, but then again, if I'd have been in a big truck next to you and seen something I was suspicious of...

I'd have tried to get you on the radio, hand signals of "what the heck are you doing?" ...something. --then again, I'm not very bright about these things, and would even have banged on your door if you didn't respond. If you didn't shoot me, and I still didn't get you to respond, I'd have been on the phone calling the police if I thought you had any intention of moving that truck.

I guess I see it the same as witnessing someone tripping and falling their way to their car. Would you try to intervene/assist personally first? If you're unable to do that, then...

Regardless, so glad you had, and took, the chance to educate the NE officers! Education really is the key to securing all of our rights regarding vaping.

Although it was definitely an inconvenience, and possibly an embarrassment, that you may very well have saved a life (or a dozen) in the process, makes the whole thing an excellent trade, doesn't it? Everybody wins!

I've been given the side-eye by two cops in patrol cars while driving and vaping and they both realized what it was before pulling me over, but they were both damn close to pulling me over and I knew it. Luckily, I'm in L.A. and late night tv here is full of ads for cheapo pv's and they sell them in every 7-11 so the cops are relatively familiar. However, were I black man, I don't doubt that I would have been pulled over both of those times anyway. Also, fortunately, a friend and neighbor of mine is a seargent, but I haven't had cause to pull that card yet.
