To get rid of the metal taste heat the resistance wire to glowing for a few seconds before making your coil. This will also take a bit of the spring out of the wire making it easier to wrap the coil. If you don't do this step it takes vaping about 1 ml of juice before the metal taste starts going away. I do it on all of mine because I can't stand that taste.

So the middle wire that wraps? Just heat with say a butane lighter until red hot, only for a few seconds?

So how does one clean the pene if there was juice used in it that is leaving tastes of it when filled with new flavor juice?

I had that issue myself, I don't think that you can completely get rid of the old flavor through any cleaning if it's strong. I vape a cherry tobacco flavor and then a bunch of minty stuff, the tobacco clings. Eventually it'll weaken enough that you don't notice it, but I feel that the best way is just to whip up a new coil/wick. It takes me like 5-10 minutes to re-wick.

Why'd you stop at 4.7v? From what I understand about rebuildables and VV devices, sometimes it takes a bit more power to give them the whole shebang. Maybe try taking it up a notch or two.

Also, penelope has a bit of a warm-up period. If you're not taking a 1-2 second warm-up puff, you'll probably have a bit of reduced vapor.

I am more of a fan of 1.7-2.0 ohms at 4.2 ish. Seems to be my sweet spot. I don't like the vape to be too hot and harsh. When I increased the voltage it muted the flavor slightly and decreased the VP.
