Oh sorry man, I'm pulling the first sample this Thursday the 30th. Probably around 9:00am. I'm going to take a picture of it being poured from the spout through the strainer into the pyrex. Then I'll load it up in a fresh carto, let it soak up for 5 minutes and have at it.

I'm using a fine stainless steel mesh tea strainer to a pyrex beaker to the bottle.

This whole experiment started over the debate of barrel steeping actually making any kind of difference so I want to keep that going. See if all this extra money we pay for these barrel reseerves is worth it or if it's just the flavorings themselves.

Haha...I've never paid any extra money for barrel juice but someone gave me almost 30mls of a certain high dollar barrel juice (GM) because they didn't like it, I gave it to my daughter because I didn't like it and she gave it away because she didn't like it...3 strikes because it wasn't so Grand!

I appreciate the feedback. I'll know if this stuff is good or not in a couple days.

This is going to be the strainer and pyrex setup that I'll be using to take 15ml samples each week. Next picture will be Thursday, juice pouring. I could even snap the halves together and double strain it technically.

All good my friend no harm done. It's kind of an open experiment at this point. I get my first taste of this stuff in 2 days and we have a dual member blind taste test of barrel and non barrel steeped juice from the same batch steeped for the same amount of time so we can taste the exact affect a barrel has on e-juice.

Ok so I came in to a bit of a leak from the very front of the barrel. I pulled the first 1 week old sample today since I have to clean around the front of the barrel anyway. Took a few pictures of the pour, a close up of the rich color right out of the barrel and a pic of the color comparison between the non barrel and the 1 week old barrel juices which are from the same exact batch steeping for the same exact amount of time. I'm about to load up a fresh carto. Have to clean a tank and then I'll fire it up.

I think the leak is from me not waiting a full 3 days to soak the barrel prior I only soaked it for 1 day. The leak isn't bad and will go away as it expands.

I fired it up. The barrel absolutely has an affect on the juice and it's so unique and full of all types of flavors. It has a bright aged woody flavor. The tobaccos are very present, the sweets are a bit more in the background and blended. I haven't tasted a juice like it that's for sure. Here it is loaded up with a fresh carto and cleaned tank.

It was as I expected that the sweetness would be pushed to the back ground. This is a good thing so I hope your not disappointed. You want the woody tobacco to shine through and the sweetness as a slight note. You are making an oak cured tobacco vape so it shouldn't be overly sweet in my opinion.
