Anyone know if a Heron would fit on a Zen Sidewinder?
I'm thinkin bloated microstick/spheroid

Z2 threading is 20x1,25 mm pitch while Heron has 20x1 mm pitch. I don't know if your sidewinder has the Z2 threading, check it with a top cap from PAPS or any other mod with 20x1 mm. In Europe sometimes, we call it 201 connection.

No, bad picture angle bro. The holes don't even show when inverted as the slot in the ring is off center by a mm or so. All you can see if inverted is a bit of oring.

Been there - done that! Unintentionally placed the AFC ring the wrong way and sucked a tennis ball thru a hole :)
And hey, that's not all. Then started rotating the ring and got even more confused

~ bewildered as to where the air-flow holes suddenly vanished :)

I forgot if the SW is 20x1 threading. It was many moons ago when I said goodbye to anything Zen. Kneejerk reaction is that it will not as he uses "Zen Standard" threading. Would be cool to see though.

Thanks Guys. I don't actually own a sidewinder. I'm just going through some microstick envy and went off on a bit of a tangent. When the Heron arrives it will come with its home on the Paps. Right now my poor spheroid sits on a smoketech epipe waiting for a piccolo or microstick to become available

There is a piccolo with sheroid being sold in the classies. You may want to PM the seller to see if they will just sell you the piccolo.

I think I'm glad Domo doesn't have a retail space. Because then I'd put a visit in my travel itinerary and then my girl would know how much these things cost. I get eyerolls, currently, but she hadn't yet asked about price so I don't tell ...

edit: woops, meant to post in the general thread but oh well ...

GP Fam, I would like to follow up on a couple of things with my build and the Heron.

First, I love the Heron. With the amount of fluff I am using I have no issues with filling it with 4-4.5ml of 50/50 juice. It seems to never run out!
On my last build I used the loops as seen. I decided to cut the loops a bit off center and leave one side of the 2 strands of ekowool a bit longer. I placed the shorter side into the juice well and threaded the longer through the hole on the top cap as shown.

NOTE - wrapping 2 seperate strands of medium together and placing two through the cap and two in the well mimics this method.

Perseas mentioned that the wick dimension through the cap hole makes a wicking difference, and he is correct! So far 2 SnC strands, 2-3mm silica and 2mm strands of ekowool wicks FANTASTIC!.

One last thing and I will include in blog that has had little attention is the AIR FLOW CONTROL!
What a great addition.the AFC ring is simple, moves freely but tight enough that it will not move unless moved. The polished ring finishes the base of the Heron off with tasteful beauty. It is amazing and will be loved by the masses of vapors that begged for it on the Spheroid. Although I am in the camp that likes a bit of a tighter draw as the Spheroid offers, I happily set the AFC on the Heron with two of the holes open leaving one closed.

The AFC needs to be talked about more!
I am still in love with the Heron and will be picking another up because as Perseas knows D. And she gets her way with GP and will soon be negotiating for mine :).

Thank you bro, for talking about the AFC, but please open up that third hole, you're making my left side twitch...

Your telling me. I am currently working on not looking as my subOCD just let my OCD in on the issue. I want to at least center it.
Hank Haney is now writing an article for GD when using 2 airholes on the Heron. It's called Heron and Hooking.

Nice to have an additional pictorial to drool over :)

Google translated the last part add follows though (not sure how accurate the translation is)

" It is a pity that in this device manufacturer refused threaded connection elements, it still is more reliable. But all the other characteristics of this "outweigh".

So that the device - failed!"

Sounds like someone isn't really appreciating the hybrid connection. Also, although they set it up with some pretty pictures it doesn't show anything, really, in use.

I betting that usage would change that opinion (as well as the future 510 adapter)... even though that will nullify the wonder of the gpin.

The last phrase is Так что устройство – удалось! , so Google translation is highly inaccurate. So that the device - managed to, able to achieve! is a closer translation.

No, that's not what he meant - the translation is bad - don't expect google to give you an accurate translation :) The author said that it's too bad that the bell, the base, and the tank are not put together the same way as on a Spheroid with threads (as opposed to with o-rings holding them together) the review is very positive and very detailed.
