I collect ( and use) Vintage Double edge razors, with a preference for "open comb" style razors. I've used a lot of various polishes on my vintage razors, and the best polish I can recommend is MAAS metal polish. flawless mirror finish, and not very abrasive, so it doesn't destroy the metal. Many of my old Gillette Single rings are silver plated, and its mild not to wear off the plating.

No kidding! I'm a straight razor guy myself! Been shaving with one for almost 4 years now.....I also hone my own razors; it's kind of my "other" hobby. I myself own over 30 straights....That's why I had the mothers....Are you on any of the shaving forums at all? I used to frequent them more than I do lately....most of my time is spent here these days! :)

Yep...on Badgers and blades...I founded the "brotherhood of the open comb"....the largest thread in the double edge section:).... Haven't been on much lately...my twin brother hangs out there a lot ( I got him into double edge razors)...And we aren't speaking...so I've avoided a conflict by not visiting B&B much....do miss it...some great guys over there!!

Went once. In August. Mistake. [emoji16]

My friend just bought a place in Palm Desert, she's been trying to get me to go there with her one weekend. I really need to take her up on it.

August...big mistake. Come November to April. 75 degs. Clear skies every day.

I spent a week in Encinitas at the beginning of April. It's a beautiful place! I went to a vape shop, the closest one to where we were staying, but I probably chose the least impressive one (since I hear there are some really good ones and this one only sold clones, although the staff was nice).

I used to spend up to a month a year in Palm Springs, for about seven years in a row, with no plans to do anything other than just relax. After a few weeks of doing nothing but relaxing and being laid back I felt like a native Californian. Coming home to the snow and going back to work was always rough.

We love Encinitas and I want to move my practice there and winter in PS occasionally.

I get your thoughts about living in the Republik of Kalifornia but San Diego is fairly conservative because of the large military presence, both active & retired. The weather def can't be beat!

I can attest there was definantly a "military presence" in San Dog in the mid 60's. I was the RMAA at Camp Nimitz (primary side of NTC) for part of my time doing boot at NTC, RCPO at the A Range part of it. A picture of my Nimitz color guard. Other is a typical graduation back then. I had the Kodac Bullet camera Dad had at the Marchall Islands, Iwo Jima and Nagasaki when I was in boot, never got caught with it, used it in Nam. Not much left of NTC as I remember it when I was in the area '08. About where the very small bridge over the estuary to camp Nimitz was is a freeway now.

Very cool man...Yeah I know a quite a few people over there have BOTOC proudly displayed in their signatures, so it's still going strong as far as I know!

There are actually a few of us B+Bers here on ECF....I got my buddy Jeremy (brooksie967, he's a frequent flyer over there) into vaping and he now frequents this forum as well....:)

Damn, I really thought it was going to be full Ti or a Ti/SS mix. I'm a bit bummed about the alumibronze mix. I guess I'll be passing on it. No disrespect P it's just my personal preference.
