Thank you so much , Idaho. I dont mind some maintenance, or even reg maintenance, its just when it becomes a daily chore that it gets to be too stressful. I need comfort and peace in my life.

This isn't strictly necessary, but upgrading your SS X top cap GPin to the Lux GPin makes cleaning them a snap! Just soap and water, or even just a quick rub with a microfiber cloth if you see any tarnish.

Since I just got my Heron 510 adapter (which I probably won't use a whole lot but wanted to have just in case) ... what's the recommended method of installation?

Do I thread the black insulator (with the positive plate) into the Heron and then screw the actual adapter 201 to 510 to the Heron and tighten with the brass pin/screw?

Or do I just screw the whole assembly in place to a Heron with the gpin/insulator removed?

Edit... I think I got it

1. Remove the brass positive screw/pin from the assembly. Separate the ss 201-to-510 threaded base from the positive plate/insulator assembly.

2. Install positive plate/insulator assembly with gp fork INTO the Heron base.

3. Install ss 201-to-501 threaded base ONTO the Heron base.

4. Screw brass screw/pin into the bottom of the 510 connector.

I am going to build my new Heron tonight and was curious of the same thing! Is it working?

Yup, that's what I did after trying to screw the whole thing in as one piece. Haha.

We designed the 510 adapter to be as short as possible according to the rest design of the Heron. You unscrew the whole GPin with the plastic insulator and you put the new positive contact inside the new insulator with the threaded hole facing outwards, as in the photo. Then you screw the base and you lock the whole adapter by screwing the brass pin. It is easy!

Is the switching of the base so that you can use it as on other devices other than GP or so you can have a Hybrid attachment to GP devices for a more streamlined look?

Sorry, not really knowledgeable on the Heron. I have my X on its way and maybe someday I might take the leap into the GP atties.

The GP Heron comes with a proprietary 201 connection, which permits it to be screwed directly on a 22 mm mod's tube without the need of a top cap, if the threading of the tube is M20x1 mm pitch. It gives a hybrid look as you correctly said. It fits to most of these mods, not all and certainly to all 22 mm GP mods. A X converter Ring is needed for 23 mm mods like GP PAPS X to convert the 20x1 threads to 21x1 threading. The Heron 510 adapter created for use with regulated and box mods.

By default is a hybrid atty for a more streamlined look and the optional 510 adapter is for use with non 20x1 mods in 510 too caps or other hybrid adapters.

So glad I'm not the only one that tried to screw the entire assembly on as one piece. I figured it out on my own but was a little embarrassed to make a post about it.
