So much catching up to do - I've been on holiday for two weeks and decided on a self-imposed break from *all* internet connections. My mother turns 90 in three weeks. She originally comes from Queensland and her four surviving sisters still live there (she comes from a family of 10, with 8 siblings still alive). So my Mum and I went on a driving holiday up to the warmer climes of southern Queensland for a family reunion with all the sisters - two of them older than Mum (my Mum on the

QUEENSLANDER!!! QUEENSLANDER!!! QUEENSLANDER!!!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. Sucks they lost the State of Origin series after such a great run.

That's wonderful you gave your mom the chance to spend some time with her sisters! Time is short, who knows when the opportunity will arise again. And happy early bday to mom...90 and still going strong!

Anavidvan, I think you are referring to the MCR101? But I don't think it's a copy of anything. It's simple, it's high quality, it's elegant, and it's a tube mod. I guess it's hard for mods to be dramatically different from each other if that is their premise. It is 22mm, has brushed caps (or polished), and is made of individual tubes not eXtensions, so I think it is quite different to the X in those and other ways - including the switch, as you say, and one of the finishes being copper nickel. The logo is a rose because it is made in Manchester in Lancashire and the red rose is the county emblem of Lancashire. It stems from the War of the Roses, and the rivalry with Yorkshire continues to this day - albeit less violently! The Yorkshire emblem is the white rose.

Liam at MCR mods is not a friend of mine or anything but I have had chats with him and he is a great lad who isn't trying to copy anybody or rip them off so I thought it only fair to him that I say all that.

"Banana bender" (or "cane toad" in the football context) is the correct term for a Queenslander :D

I was born in NSW, so State of Origin was a good result for me ... finally. Despite having lived in NSW for 70 years, Mum still supports the Queenslanders, so we groaned and cheered at totally different times while watching the match :)

I'm afraid the trip had a "last chance" feeling to it - one of Mum's older sisters is not well. But it was great to see them all together again - and on a happy occasion!

My dear friend is from Brisbane. We took a vacation to the Greek isles in 2011. Upon getting off the ferry in Naxos, the very first order of business was to find a bar showing the game (well, we found a bar that had a Tv & convinced the kind elderly gentleman to put the game on). It was the final game of the series that year, & my first taste of Ozzie football. We had the best time! I've been hooked ever since [emoji1]

I think I saw that MOD, its kinda a mix of features taken from various designs, "engineered in Manchester, England"?

That is an MCR mod, and they are EXTREMELY high quality mods. Not a copy, clone, or stolen design. Just simple. They are among the best mods money can buy.

I prefer GP, of course, but MCRs are very, very, nice.

Edit: fantellie, sorry, just saw that you beat me to the reply!

I was wondering how on earth someone in San Diego knew about State of Origin! I thought you may have been an expat banana bender:)

I had a holiday in Greece many years ago. It's *very* easy to have the best time ever in Greece! Wonderful people - a view I held long before vaping even existed. Of course, my experiences with GP products and Perseas have only enhanced that opinion :D

You're talking about the MCR 101. It is a fantastic Mod. Nothing will take the place of my GP's, but it is a very well-engineered mod I must say...

Well, I feel like a huge .....**.....

I ordered a Lux X-Ring from VA last week as I prefer the look over the polished SS X Ring I bought (gave my polished SS Ring to Firestorm).....

This morning, I was looking at the double-holster that came with my Lux X.....I never noticed it before, but there is a side velcro pocket on the holster.... So i opened it up, and look what I found:

A Lux X-Ring!!! I couldn't believe it!!

Well seeing as how I have no use for 2 Lux X Rings, I will be PIF'ing one of them in the coming week....stay tuned!! :)

Well. Staying out for even a few hours leaves a lot to be caught up on. I think I'm caught up.

JPC needs to shake those pockets clean.

Lord Perseas in the beginning created his Kingdom. (And Idaho brought down the GP tablets from the mountains)

I made indirect mention of a park, in part because that really IS a more appropriate gathering of the arrival of the TiX.

We have bug lovers and a tarantula needs a new home. (Bonus info - the VapinBill dude has a tat of aforementioned.

Cliffy's on again/off again as desire for the TiX would make Facebook status updates proud.

And....
Jojo is recovering from a massive vanilla hangover.

@Spydro. I have PM'd you the explanation I received from Signature Tips & their offer to refund your postage costs in full.

Got the PM's and email Ellie, thank you. And thank you again for all your ongoing help.

I love spiders. If there was a safe way to get Paul, I would love to adopt him. My first and only tattoo is of a Spider ( Harley Davidson logo body).

Bill/Pris - not that hard to ship something like a tarantula, I used to import and export living Lepidoptera livestock all the time. But... since USDA APHIS stepped up at took the reins from US Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement they have tightened the reins on shipping many species across state lines, and many not at all to certain states. Often requires permits now... another excuse for government to make money off you. So you might want to bone up at the APHIS web site before trying to do so.

Been playing catchup on the forum again.....

Thanks to all who commented about some of my passions a while back (many pages). So another passion…..

I have been a very serious Lepidopterist since 1960, not as a profession but as a passion like with all of the natural world. Am well traveled to study their life histories right where they live, from true deserts to tropical rain forests to arctic/alpine habitats and everything in between. Some of the places I visited took days to get to by any means found to be possible. Some I wished I could flap wings to get to instead of long harsh hikes and climbs.

Thank you so much for sharing this piece of you! This is absolutely fascinating to say the least! I adore butterflies and will admit that my knowledge of them pretty much ends at adoration of their beauty. I don't like "bugs" (and I label them all loosely)...a slight phobia of sorts...(quiet Yankee) but I am just fine with them having their space and me having mine. I don't seem to mind ladybugs and I love butterflies...
