I've polished my R91s and removed the media blasted finish with help from the GP PnB tool.

Kebo makes a polished R91 now. As soon as my X gets here it is going on it.

This is my first atty of this kind. So far I'm really liking it. I've always not liked the finish in pictures, but in person it's not too bad. And of course pretty much anything looks better on an X.

I didn't mind the finish either until it started accumulating nicks and scratches. I ended up brushing one of my three with the same sandpaper you suggested for refinishing a Provari. Brushed finish really hides the signs of everyday use.

edited to add:

The finish of the Russian 91% really looks great on a lux with a brass drip tip. I'll post some pics when I get home tonight.

This one came a little scuffed up from INFRNL and they don't bother me a lot but my OCD sees them lol. He showed me pictures and I knew it was a little scuffed , he gave it to me for a fair price.

I've been vaping it for about two hours now. Not a single gurgle , not a single dry hit on my first build. I'm not sure why I see people posting about having issues building these and having them flood etc , it's a pretty simple build.

I have the atty side of the PnB (one of my kids lost the mod side :( ) any tips on that. Just sandpaper I presume ?

Obviously, you want to assemble all of the metal tank sections first. I attach the PnB adapter to the R91 and then put it in a power drill. I start with sandpaper and gradually move down to 600 grit before moving to a polishing cloth. Make sure to polish the drip tip adapter as well as the stock drip tip.

The only piece that isn't so easy is the bottom of the R91. You can try to do it the best you can or just leave it (since you won't see it when attached to your mod anyway).

Supposedly the polished one isn't released yet an the one claiming to be is a knock off.
They being kebo are releasing 1. All black 2. Polished 3. Big Russian.

It's real. Ordered it directly from the vendor listed on the Kebo Limited Edition news release on their Facebook page.

I read somewhere that guys were using scotchbrite pads to take off the coating on the R91's. I can't remember where I saw it, but the examples looked good.

I have used them before and work nice but I prefer 1200-1500 grit sandpaper wet and comes out perfectly even and shiny.

I know why :) I've had a few times when I had dry hits - this happens when you use too much cotton (I only use cotton), or if you place the wick incorrectly into the channels. This atty design is really great (in terms of doing easy builds - in terms of changing coils and wicks with a full tank - not so much :). It has the same issues as a Spheroid would have if you don't do the wick right or have the right amount of fluff.

Between the brushed finish and large "The Russian" on the side, I couldn't use one. I would have to try and refinish it. I've seen lots of pics and they look good, don't get me wrong, but the finish and writing would drive me crazy on a daily basis.

I'll probably refinish it tonight after about 10 hours of owning it lol.

I've been building Sofia's and Killer 705s for a while, once you learn how to get those wicking right with the amount of cotton you need the R91 is a breeze.

Absolutely. But I guess after getting the R91, you now can see why this is the most recommended RBA tank to noobs - very difficult to get it wrong... It does happen to some people though.
