I will be doing no such thing. I will be using it as intended and not neglect it's beauty. I'm no collector of anything and take care of my possessions but to me just letting it sit on a shelf is not doing any justice to a fine piece of craftsmanship.

I'm with you. I may not take it out of the house (at least not for a while) but used it would be. I have many that can travel.
If I believe as time gets closer that id be afraid of using it, I'd likely pass on the day of release. I don't want to spend any money on something to specifically sit on display.

That first drop is always the worst. I've dropped most of my stuff at least once. One of the many many benefits of my GP stuff is that when I drop it, or scratch it up by putting it in the wrong pocket, it will sustain little to no permanent damage. Scratched one of my luxes just the other day, cleaned the patina off and you can't even tell it got into a fight with my car keys.

I'd be too worried with Ti being softer than SS that I'd treat like any of my other SS GP mods and then I'd end up gouging or scratching it.

Unfortunately, I dropped my X #1. Because she was apart, in two pieces when she dropped, she has two chips. To this day, it makes me so sad. :( If she had dropped put together, I believe she would have survived with no damage. Ugh! But, she still hits! :)

Houston, we have a problem....
The top cap of my X is stuck on the small (18500/kick) extension. Mind you, there were no drops or any sort of accidents with the mod or just the extension - I just cleaned it in the UC 2 days ago, and everything was great as usual.

Then today, at first it became squeaky, I looked at the threads (they were clean and even - both the extension and the top cap), and tried the top cap on the 18350 and 18650 tubes, and there were no problems - smooth as butter. Then I put the top cap back onto the 18500 extension and tried to work it on and off to get rid of the squeaky, and now it's stuck half way on the extension  :( 8-o. Doing the freezer bit now to see if I can get it off.

@Perseas - Either way, if I do get it off or not, should I send the whole mod or just the 18500 extension tube back to VapourArt?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

I know that feeling! I had that happen on a Ti mod once. :)

Nope, it's the top cap. I put it and the 18500 extension through the UC, and then tried to put it onto the 18350 and the 18650 tubes, and it catches on all of them. The X converter ring works smoothly on all the 3 extensions. It's the top cap. writing an email to VapourArt.

You may need to send it back for fixing or replacement. Write us an email to provide you the return address.

One thing I have found with Ti, it is 'stickier'. I could be wrong, but because of the 'stickier', threading is more likely to get stuck. That has been my experience with previous TIs.

This is totally true! All threads of the X Ti MUST be always lubricated with a thin film of vaseline and an accidental drop may create serious issues. We gave greater tolerance to the sections for that very reason, but Titanium has no nickel into his composition like the 316 SS to help the threads slide smoothly with each other, the feeling of the threads is hard compared to 316 SS. This will be in the product's description as a warning.
Many people believe the only difference between SS and Ti is the hardness and the weight, but they are two completely different alloys with different properties and the user has to consider and respect them, if he wants to enjoy a Titanium mod for a long time.
