I'm not sure how it works. I do know my second Heron had a lower serial than my first by around 100 units or so.
The patina on the X Lux is coming along really nicely. It's not like anything I've ever seen.
It's got almost a gloss to it and even seems a little different than the 2.5 or 3.0 tubes.

It happens sometimes to a few units because some part doesn't pass the quality control and we put it on stock with a new part later and when they are purchased from us and our resellers by the same person.

2.5 love!! :D
My one very slight issue with the 3.0 switches are the sharp edges. They aren't that bad but I can definately feel them when firing it.

I have posted about how we improve our mods during every batch and I repost about the v3 switches. In the latest batches of the v3 switch, the edges of the locking ring are now smoother, we redesigned the external ridges it in 4 places. You need macro lens to be able to see it. If you look closely you can see the differences between the two rings. The current batches of GP PAPS v3 SS and LUX Edition use the updated ring with more bevelled circumference and slanted edges for the 4 slots where the button rests. The production time for the locking ring only is 8 minutes now, without counting polishing, ultra sonic cleaning, checking and assembling.

The updated left locking ring is still unpolished having the machine finish (it'll become softer) and the right one is the previous locking ring.
If you rub it softly with a grit paper, it'll become smoother.

Haha yep, my first X was #1411. The new one received last week is #1294.

I would like to give away my new polished SS X Ring (literally just unpacked it). I just installed it on my new Paps X Lux and am not crazy about the look, so I ordered a Lux X Ring from VA just now.....

Would anybody like to have it? The first person to PM me saying that they want it will get it...I can ship it out today Express Mail (I can ship Express for free from work which is awesome! I borderline abuse the privelage, but it's OK... :) )....Let me know if you'd like it!!

I couldn't help but notice anavidfan's X had 'dat gap' from using the AFC ring in her picture ... just sayin. :p

Hmmm...actually have a jeweler's loupe here in my desk :D (I can't see to make coils without it)
Looking at the only 3.0 I have on me which is my Lux the switch housing is beveled. It's actually the 4 protrusions on the button itself that have the slight sharpness.
Please don't take this as complaining P. It's really so trivial but it is something that I do notice. I tend to be extremely picky on things almost to a Steve Jobs level. Trust me, ask my wife...

ETA: Oh got my tracking number this morning P. Thanks bro, you are the best!
ETAA: The fact that I can not find one single thing to nitpick on the X is probably the greatest compliment I can pay you :D

The ONLY nitpick I have is that my serial number is not #0001

Lol!! While it would be cool to have 0001, the X itself is perfection. I can find fault in almost anything...yes, I have a negativity problem. However, I can NOT find one single nitpick with the X. None!

Yeah I was kidding, I never get hung up on serial numbers. A lot of times it's actually better to get a second or third batch, since bugs are often worked out from the first batch. My ZNA is a good example of that!

And the "winner" of the X Ring giveaway is Firestorm... Congrats brother!! I will send it out to him today!! :)

Thanks for your generosity JP and for being a great member of our GP family! I prefer the look of the polished X ring on both the GP Paps X SS and LUX. I was recently considering making a Vapourart order for the newly released spare GP Paps v3 springs and a polished X ring, but the polished X ring was out of stock, so you made my day.
