Probably I am crazy, but I remember from my childhood meetings with wasps, I remained calm, I just visualised the direction I wanted them to go and they obeyed. It still works.

I used to tell people this for years and got a lot of very strange looks so I no longer pass along this observation, but I swear it's true also.

Also thanks to Wildvet, thanks for the rayon. I too now have seen the light! In a heron it is truly spectacular. I didn't really buy all the "you'll taste notes in your juices you didn't realize we're there" talk, but holy crap. The hype was real. My girlfriends stash of cotton balls in the medicine cabinet just grew by one bag, and I need to find somewhere to put one of these gigantic rayon dispensing boxes on my vape station.

In related news, anyone need anything knitted? Specifically out of SnC cotton yarn? I contemplated knitting a thank you to Wildvet but it proved too time consuming on a beautiful weather weekend.

We have those "flying cockroaches" as well. Palmetto bugs we call them. Nasty things they are, I wish the lizards and frogs would eat them, but they don't.

We don't have any large reptiles, here, so these roaches would choke any that tried. They get to be as long as a Spheroid is tall (without the drip tip) and they scare me!

Unless you're actively looking for a giant box, this SKU is more manageable at 40 feet length.

Just for kicks, here is both a KGD build and a CC build... the only reason I can tell the difference is because I already know which is which...

Good call on the smaller box, that's a much more manageable size. I like that method for wicking the heron with rayon also. I'm using a single strand currently and occasionally it shrinks and wants to retreat back through the cotton topper. I bet it'd be easier to keep a loop or double strand fluffed enough to stay above.

Just messing around and built this tonight since I didn't want to squeeze dual coils in the Heron.

Instead, I did 7/8 wraps of parallel 28ga wire and this came in at .65 Ohms. Performs quite well but I don't think this build will be used much because ... one, the Heron + 18650 mode really is a bit tall to suit my tastes and, two, I just don't have enough airflow for this build to work its best.

I don't know if getting a Heron 1.5 would fix it but this was more of an experiment than anything else.

Even with the afc ring open all the way, it's still not giving you enough airflow? Btw, your build is similar to mine and it works great for me (with afc open all the way), but I'm using 26 gauge and right now I'm using Japanese cotton for a wick. I may try shiseido next. Silica wasn't cutting it for me, cc is great, ramie meh...interesting, but i need a little more time to play with that...

Wish I could make that my screen saver....... Thanks again for such beauty

This one from Mexico is the one to use as a screen saver.

A story about lep migrations.... Not as well publicized is the Vanessa migrations, north in the spring, a small one south end of season. Some years the march north here in the west is many, many times more massive than even the eastern Monarch migrations south to the gulf coasts and Mexico. The majority of the individuals in these migrations are Vanessa cardui, but some are Vanessa carye (or annabella depending on source), a few are Vanessa viginiensis. They start trickling by as the front of the migration grows until the numbers reach the peak for that years migration, then suddenly trickle back down with the migration passing by a specific place for a few days to up to about 2 weeks. I remember one such year in the late 80's while living in SLC on the east slope of the Rocky Mountains where they blanketed everything, literally... the ground, all plants, homes, cars, you, etc to where everything "moved" with them as far as the eye could see. The sheer number of individuals was staggering. They were being forced to funnel north along the natural high wall of the Rocky Mountains, or so we thought. It was dangerous to drive through them, trying to keep the windshield clean enough to see through it, the grill clear enough to allow air to the radiator, and the road slick from all the living and dead Vanessa on it. But we decided to drive west anyway along I-80 towards the Great Basin to see how wide the front of the migration north extended out into it. It was a long day and a long drive, but when we got to Winnemucca, NV about 9 hours later and over 350 miles from the start we still had not found the western edge of the front. Since it was a Sunday I had to get back for work for Monday, so after a stop at our favorite dinner house there we had to start back. So it's possible if not probable the migration was solid all the way to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There was no way to estimate the numbers, but in the billions of individuals. Unfortunately the ex has almost all the pictures from our life, so I can't share those we took that day.

To me, Carmel, Monterey and the whole peninsula is a very magical place. I spent a lot of free time driving up to that area when I was a starving student in San Luis Obispo. If I were a wealthy man this area would be my home.

Although, even though I have never been there, I think that Greece would be just as magical. Since I was a young boy I've been completely fascinated with the history of the Greeks. I had always dream of seeing the Parthenon and the Acropolis. I envy you so much and am certain that there are plenty of butterflies, pine trees and daisies as well as the beautiful people of Greece.

I agree... the whole Peninsula, but especially Carmel to Big Sur will always be a magical place to me, and would be to anybody that spends some time there. When I was discharged out of the Navy at Treasure Island forty three plus years ago, the next morning the wife and I drove to Carmel and leased a house. If it hadn't been for a family emergency that forced me to move back to the Rockies a few years later I would still be living in Carmel, and would have died there. I almost moved back a dozen years ago when I divorced, still don't know why I didn't as it would have been easy to do then and buy another house. Then again about 2-3 years ago i thought about doing it again, and probably would have if not for the hassles with the health issues. I will however go spend a few weeks there again before I die, spend some time with friends still there from when I lived there, go visit some of my favorite haunts there one last time.

This is my second attempt to purchase some GVC. I always get the same error:

I tried changing my address nothing works

I'm having the same issue. I had this issue last time I ordered from Grants site as we'll. that time I had to email him my username and he found my aborted transactions and sent me a paypal invoice which I then paid. I was hoping he'd fixed this glitch. It's also why I just bought through Vapourart after that.

I will give that a try. Thank you .
