I personally like it as well. It looks just like mine, except I have mine in 650 mode. I prefer the Aluminium Bronze over the SS, but I think that particular mix is nice because it helps reduce the SS presence in the mod. When I look at mine, the SS Heron doesn't seem to intrude on that wonderful Aluminium. In fact, it seems to blend depending on the lighting (not so much in that picture tho)...

Here's something that will have mixed feelings from you guys, I'm sure:

I've been contemplating this for awhile. After a little more work....I'll have a mirror-polished Paps X. I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on this project since I won the Paps X from Secret Santa. I can mix and match brushed and polished pieces! :D

For those that puke from seeing the beautiful brushed finish destroyed, I apologize in advanced. It was very scratched from use to begin with, and this is a project I really wanted to do....so try to not freak out on me too much lol.

Done with the GP PnB, of course :)

After one more pass, it should be perfect. (The wife made me stop because I was in her way for making dinner lol)

Looks very nice, Path!! I think you're right, the brushed pieces from the secret santa X mixed with the polished pieces of yours will look killer!! Nice Job!! :)

I would like to leave a few words for vapourart here as I don't know where else I could do so.

Over the 3-4 years I vape now I came across many vendors and mod makers. Some of them have been good, some of them have been great, some of them just sucked in all regards.

When I expressed my issues with the first GP product I have ever owned this community was there in a heartbeat to help out to see what the issue was and I appreciate that very much.

Vapourart reached out to me to inform me that they will send out a new unit on Monday of this week. I told them that I got it to work and it was just a minor thing I should have figured out myself but there was no arguing with them.

Without any hesitation on Monday morning I received a very nice email informing me that a new unit was shipped out to me (FYI that arrived today) and that I kindly return the other unit.

As if that wasn't already enough, vapourart even covered the shipping expense on my side which takes things to a whole new level of support.

I want to thank you guys and especially vapourart for the beyond premium service and products and the fantastic assistance from them in my purchase.

Without trying to step on everyone's foot I think this has been the most amazing customer service I have ever experienced period. vaping or anything else in life these guys are serious about their products and customers and that is fantastic to see.

Just like everything in vaping I am not sure if this bad boy is specifically for me but thanks to a local friend and also ECF member I really adore the new heron on the v3 paps. Holy potato would probably be the best way to describe the vape quality just incredible and I look forward to pick one up when it's back for sale.

Once again, thank you very much vapourart for the fantastic support, product quality, and for cherishing your customers all around the world.

Yup, rub a little grease from your forehead or ear in the logo and serial number engravings and wipe it off the rest of the mod.

Hmmm, though it makes sense, it is a chemical reaction, but....... And I know its just me and my "germ freakness" but I could not live knowing that there are biological living creatures in the engravings, even if they are mine....... :)

Now everytime I pick up someones beautifully patina'd device Im going to get all "seinfeld" and just pass.......

I have to say that the X continues to impress me....... Earlier today, I went to do my usual q-tip wiping on the top contacts as my Ody produces a LOT of vapour condensation because of its design ( 510 air intakes ) I noticed it was very moist so I decided to give it a better cleaning. I took it apart and gave it a good wash etc. Dried and before I put it back together I said, what the heck.... I will clean the contacts with a cape cod, just to see how much oxidation etc.

I was very surprised at how relatively clean everything was. From my previous experience with brass bits I was expecting much more black coming off of the Cape Cod wipe. I was also pleased that the threads were clean, must be the higher quality stainless steel.

Is almost 2 weeks of use, ( heavy use) as its the only device I use now all day, everyday, for almost 24 hours a day. I do get 3-5 hours of sleep if im lucky...... So I put my devices thru a lot of heavy use.

Couldn't agree more, the X is very impressive, the flag ship of the GP Series IMO. All three of mine are used every day/night all day/night. I have all four of my Herons going now, so the 4th is on one of the LUX V3's. Have three V3's, but I just can't get into them when the X's are always calling out... vape me! I've used the V2.1 SS and Picc more than the V3's. I see more X's and Herons in my future.

Another change... the guy who seldom used his 18650 batts (4BT's/4FT's), preferred the smaller mod form of 18490/18350 in all of his mech, VV and VV/VW mods now wants to run the PAPS in 18650 all of the time. So I am going to have to buy more 18650 batts.....

BTW did 1.3 and 1.7 28-2.4mm builds on the two newest Herons (first two have .7 and .9 28-1/16" KGD). Have one of them running SnC to ty it out (thanks again wildvet), and the other KGD. Also went with less fluff in them to see what differenece if any that makes. Currently have Creme Brulee, CLS, Wakonda and Refresh in them (all from Nicoticket). I'm savoring the last of my GVC in one of my VV3's to make it last longer.

You arent kidding my man. It is tough for me to stay focused. It is a cool store. For those looking for device travel cases they carry Pelican Cases.....and knives ....and paracord  help me....
Testify Brother. You couldnt be more correct.

Hmmm... gives me an idea of something to send you one of these days. ;)

Thanks so much for the support on the polished X, guys and gals :). Makes me feel proud of my work. I've never done this sort of thing before so I was sweating bullets the whole time.

You can still ever so slightly see remnants of the brushing in the right light, so I'm gonna hit it again from scratch to get that last layer out before I work up to the 5000 grit to truly give it a mirror shine :). I only went to to 2500 this time.

Path, I did the same thing. I had too. I then regretted every rotation. Theres pics in Part Uno somewhere. It just wasn't me. For some reason I had the urge. Unexplainable, I soon realized there is no way too duplicate the GP brush finish.
It doesnt matter what we think, you know this! I hope you love it brother!

If you have access to a buffer or even a Dremel with buffing wheels, you'll be surprised how much prettier the finish will be after hitting it with a tripoli compound with a felt wheel, and then a white "color" compound on a sewn cloth wheel.

We all appreciate what you are saying. I know originally due to your frustration it kind of seemed insulting, and people were really trying to help you see exactly what you are describing now. I for one am grateful you now see the light. I think it's cool as heck you're writing what you did, so thanks!

Bingo, Compound polish is a secret weapon and for the perfect polish after refinishing.

Argh. I work for a Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliate and they have officially banned all smoking, and e-cigarette use, on the property. I'm not surprised, nor do I really object BUT they also asked us to be good neighbors and not go to neighboring properties to smoke/vape.

I think it's terrible to tell us we can't do it "here" and please be nice and don't do it "around here" either. Grr. Sorry. Had to vent to someone.

...

I wish there were more GP people around here so I could mess around with an X before making a decision to buy one. I really do love my Paps v3, though.

I did hold a Paps X switch for a minute... but I had to send it back and it wasn't a full mod, anyway. =P

Dang, I wish I had the guts to just go for it. I REALLY, really want to take a stab at least one of my Odys so I can get close to the X brushed finish.

That might prove impossible. I know even Justin Time of Vape N Shine has said he cannot achieve the same level of brushed as GP.
