Not a particularly riveting read - agreed...
But - if it were to lead to something "less harmful", that can't be bad - can it?

Exactly, so simple, but it gets twisted by stubborn people on both sides instead of the simple and boring point, hey, this might be cool........etc

Hello GP Army!
Lucky for all I won't be posting much more until tomorrow eve but, I had to weigh in after my original post about Ti wire to YBro. As a note, I certainly did not expect a couple of pages of side stitching humor :).

The discussion has landed on quite a few threads here and about. The real issue, joking aside(lol), is the original claim that has been stated and the rudimentary testing of such claims. Having 4 bias members try to set Ti wire on fire and claim it to be safe is not the scientific level of testing and results I am looking for.
There has been hint of professionals and speak lending itself that a legitimate scientific study has been performed. Some of us are still waiting for the credentials and the study.....still waiting.
Please know, there is a plethora of information available to the masses on ecf on various threads about the subject. A couple of us are either here or grazing on a micro coil thread. On that thread, there are some very intelligent vapors that have done some of their own research and will not be coiling with Ti for a few reasons.
Although Ti has been proven that it can be biocompatible there is no testing at our specific heated temperatures but -
Titanium Dioxide is an IARC Group 2B carcinogen. Claiming one is safe, the other unsafe, is totally irresponsible, and the research does not support this. Titanium dioxide is incompatible with strong reducing agents and strong acids.[1] Violent or incandescent reactions occur with molten metals that are very electropositive, e.g. aluminium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc and lithium.[2]

Bills Magic Vapor also mentions that Ti is often rejected by the human body. There are too many other issues to list but you get the point. Right? :)

The irresponsibility rears it's ugly head again when Kanthal and Ni are now labeled "dangerous" and Ti is "more safe" by said supplier.
This is a common marketing ploy used often and referred to as Scare Tactics or Fear Marketing. And, as a couple here know has been used in prior claims and failed.

Reasons I vape - 1) I'm addicted to Nic 2) I wanted to personally stick it to the man. 3) It is safer and enough evidence supports and backs this claim to include reducing 2000+ unknown chemicals to 4-5 known ingredients.
I did not start vaping to create a parallel habit of pumping unhealthy poisons throughout my body. I started to reduce my risk. Within the last couple months I went from ekowool to cotton to reduce my risks further. I will keep educating myself to stay on top of the most current information available for my personal position on my health. Point is, I am looking to be healthier with less risk, otherwise I would be walking a mile for a Camel.

I encourage all of you to do the same. We have a very smart Family here and don't forget it. We all strive for the best for ourselves and one another. We are a special Fam and I consider a higher class in terms of educated vapors.
Many jumped on the Ti bandwagon before he was questioned and many of those vapors refuse to educate themselves and choose the tainted word of a builder that is taken this on himself from a marketing angle once again.

I hope all of you have the best of a day and evening and the best of luck on Vapour Day too all of us in the hunt.

The cost of pure Grade 2 Ti prevents it from being a viable alternative for e-cigarette use anyway. Ti nails for 420 use cost close to $100 each, and pre-made coils with a porous ceramic wick cost around $25 each. That's impractical for our use.

I don't think titanium dioxide is a worry. Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't form until the Ti reaches 1200 C, or 2190 F. There's not a battery on Earth that's going to get a coil that hot, not even close.

The jury is still out for sure, and I, like you, am eager to see the hard evidence, along with long term kanthal use. But even if Ti were found out to be safer, it's cost would be prohibitive.

Hey my buddy!
Long term use evidence is years away as vaping is still in its infancy in proportion to life spanning.
There have been numerous studies on Kanthal. And can easily be found. Regardless of coil medium when heating any metal there are metal oxides released. Some release far more than others. Yes, this is also found on Grade A1 Kanthal but, testing shows fewer than many choices of specific wire.
The Ti wire is what is in question in comparison to Kanthal.
I could care less if it heats up a nano second faster than Kanthal, I am looking at this in regards to health.
Now, D is telling me I am supposed to stay off my phone till tomorrow as we are traveling and she is driving.

psst, see you in a bit :)
