Hi gang! Im looking for a beefier spring for my stainless 2.5 switch. The stock one is working well but wanted to know if there was a heavier duty one out there ?

Thanks

Not specifically for the 2.5. Are you looking for a stiffer throw or a spring that handles sub ohms?
GP does offer a "hot" spring that will collapse if there is a intense heat situation. I use them in all of mine ...., even with some of my warmer builds I have never had a GP spring fail.
I have never has an issue with sub ohm builds

Hello my GP Family!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

As I told you guys before, I am looking for a new 'temporary house'. A sort of 'do-over' house, until I figure out where I want to live when I grow up next time. When I find that place, I will build my 'dream home'. But... :)

Yes, I am nuts. :)

A house just went on the market. If I want it, I need to move fast. Offers are being made as we speak. It's not exactly what I was looking for. But, I am tired of house shopping. I have a question.. Has anyone had any experience with 'engineered wood flooring'? It is cherry. I have only had old-school wood floors. I am a critter person, so I would prefer all tile. I am trying to get an idea of how 'hardy' 'engineered wood flooring' is. I can replace it with tile, but am wondering if I will be forced to. Any thoughts?

Have I mentioned lately?... I love and appreciate my GP Family, and my Xs! :)

BTW: This is the house: 10351 Pepe Ln, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 - Home For Sale and Real Estate Listing - realtor.com®

The hot spring is only used with v1 and v2 Paps, right? I think that I have some and they fit into a hollow center pin that screws into the Delrin insulator in the top cap. I thought this was the precursor to telescopic pins (same insulator and pin threading from v1 through v2.5).

The 2.5's spring is designed by us to be like that. The X's button has a different feeling, although the two spring aren't compatible.

Hello Cucco :)

With engineered flooring, the concern is about the wear layer thicknesses and this can vary greatly. Wear layers on engineered flooring can range anywhere from .6mm to 6mm. As an example, an engineered wood floor with a wear layer of 4mm (5/32 IN.) usually can be sanded and refinished 4-5 times over the lifetime of the floor. The average lifespan of an engineered floor with this 4mm wear layer is approximately 60-80 years.

Engvs_Solid.jpg

But critters can destroy it in less than a year. I have wooden floor in my house glued with Ceresit adhesives, but I used 3/4" thick solid teak wood for floating wood flooring to be able to sand it down as many times as I like. If you plan to move your critters there, any kind of wooden floor is not a good idea, too much humidity from the need of frequent cleaning will create issues and smelly situations and cats love to file their nails on wooden surfaces.

I researched for months when I was designing my apartment, so I can confirm that every info in this article is true and it may help you ask the right questions about the quality of this floor if you still want it.

PS

The pool is great by the way!

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, they accepted another offer before I had a chance to even make one. But, it could fall through. You never know. It went fast! Ugh! House shopping is a pain!

Perseas: Great info! This house happened so fast, I didn't even have a chance to do any real research on 'engineered wood'. Until now, all the houses I had looked at were tile and/or carpeting. The carpeted ones, I knew I would replace it all with tile.

I hope everyone has a great day! :)

A big Hello to the Fam. I hope all of you are fantastic. Cool weather has started to creep in and Idaho seems to be in full harvest mode for everyone. Some of us are already prepping the fields for next year already.

I also get a bit of moisture in all of my Herons. I chalk it up to maintenance and the fact that I fill them to the absolute fullest I can :). I still can not get over how long a Heron tank lasts.

@Cliffy - I have used the PnB countless times for myself and a few others doing mods, devices and GP topcaps. Somewhere buried in the Tips thread I have a few posts.

Idaho, I've got several toppers and two Herons. I keep hem all within reach when I'm driving and am like you, amazed at how long a Heron will last. I used to go through 20ml a day when I was using Kayfuns. Gave them away and try as I might, when I fill the a herons up in the morning, I don't fill them up till the next morning. I'll go through two 650's before I need to refill. I have no need for any other topper and will stop at 4. (I need to have 4 flavors going all the time. This concept of an all day vape is hideous to me.)

Cucco, I know the house is off the table, but I have engineered hardwood floors in my house. 3 dogs, 10 cats, and they still look great. They are a dark wood...Sapele.

Thanks! Good to know! :)

If that house comes back on the market, I am buying it. So tired of looking. Because I have very 'special' requirements, there are not a lot of houses available for me. I don't want anything less than .5 acres. I need room to park two H1 Hummers, my Harley, my 4-wheeler, and at least one car trailer. Before, I had 'no pool' on my list, but now, I'll buy even if it has a pool. I also won't live in a 'gated' or 'restricted' community. I also want a little guest house, or the room to build one. So......... :)

Just stopping in to say hello to the GP family :)

Can't wait til Vapourday, whenever that's going to be! I need me a Heron. This Spheroid has been doing well but something about the size difference of that on my PAPS X makes me think I need to have a Heron and one of those new Piccolos when they're re-released...

The stock spring I've been using is still holding up but after a few very low builds, it's feeling a bit spongy if that makes sense?

I typically sub ohm anywhere between .5-.2 anything lower is really not good with the spring and such.

Hmm, the spring is hardened SS and it has been tested down to 0,3Ω. In my opinion, it shouldn't be your main concern whether the spring stands well at 0.2Ω, because in that range, anything can happen and actually I wish the spring to collapse, before something else occurs. We don't endorse builds below 1Ω for safety reasons. Super low resistance coils may change not only the chemistry of the battery, but the chemistry of the vapour itself.

I recently read on Reddit how awesome are coils up to 0,15Ω. Anything above doesn't considered trendy. Shops in California prepare such builds for new vapers ... How awesome is that?

Social trends, ignorance, inability or absence of decent equipment to measure Volts and Ohms, counterfeited batteries, over discharged cells, cheap chargers, SLR values, bad designed APVs, etc. Too many parameters can affect the safety of a sub ohm coil. Your post will be read by hundreds of people and you may know very well what you're doing, but I ought to respond with a disclaimer for the sake of others who don't.
