I've still got some GVC I bought over a year ago. Didn't like it much when I bought it. Tried a bit a week ago - still don't like it...
But - I have to agree, the Spheroid is just the greatest...

Well there's no point in keeping it around, then! Send it over to me for secure disposal...

It is lonely in here. Where is my GP Family? :(

BTW: I am absolutely loving my kayfun Polished Bender! Best $12, I have spent in a long time! :) I get excited, about the smallest of things.

Hi folks :) I bought my first Heron on the previous Vapour Day, but today was the first chance I had to sit down and play.

I found it a bit trickier than the Spheroid, but that was partly because I was also playing with the 510 adapter and hadn't read up on how it worked. Anyway, the build itself seems to have gone ok, though I may need a bit less fluff, I think. I used a favourite juice from a local vendor here (Plime from Steam-e-cigs in Sydney) ... and it's like having a whole new flavour! The flavours are much more pronounced.

I may also need to lower my nic from 6 to 3 when using the Heron ... I seem to have a touch of light-headedness :)

SS grade is the same. on the 1.5 the airflow is increased by being slotted (instead of three individual holes) and I believe the positive contact cap of the gpin is stainless instead of brass but I can't confirm that since I have only the v1s...

Correct, and the third difference is that the drip tip now has double o-rings.

Both types are flawless by the way, its just about minor changes, imo v1 is just as perfect as v1.5 [emoji6]

ugh...I just noticed that a Heron v1 was in the classies for a good price but I was too slow to rescue it before it sold.

This is why I was asking. I wrote the seller last night and it was already spoken for.

Thank you guys for the info on the differences. Much appreciated!

Another difference between the V1.0 and V1.5 Heron was the design/dimensions of the bell. I only know that because I bought my first Heron off the classies along with my first SS PAPS X from the same seller, and it came with both the V1.0 and V1.5 versions of the bells. The seller told me he got the updated bell when it first became available, so I assume he was the original owner of the V1.0 Heron and the PAPS X.

After my comments a day or two ago about my pleasing Spheroid experience, and less pleasing Heron experiences, I decided to rebuild the Heron. I used the same exact build (silica, 4 wraps of 30g Kanthal.) And, different juices, but both at 6mg. Of course, it's hard to be exactly the same, given height from the deck and spaces between the wraps etc. etc. Elements which are very difficult to be precise about.
But, that said, the Heron is really hard on my lungs. In contrast, the Spheroid is smooth, cooler and really delightful.
    Any thoughts, my friends?

Many times with silica builds, it is easy to have a burnt taste or a hard sense in lungs and not be able to find what is going on due to a combination of different parameters. A struggled wick, hot wire (the coil seems to light up starting at the outer loops and then goes to the inner loops), taste from the wick or the wire (torch the wick and pass the wire over a flame), too tight fluff, etc.

If you try a cotton build with micro coil, you may enjoy your Heron much better in my opinion.
