Hello GP FamilY!!!!!

WOW, just noticed that its now been 4 years vaping. I started a few months before I joined, It was at the end of Feb , so my vape-anniversary passed and I almost forgot.

Congratulations! I was a heavy smoker for 30 years and it is fun when I recall that my smoking days are over since December 9th, 2011. I am vaping 4 years too :)

I've been using and cycling through six AW IMR 700 mAh 18350 batteries that I purchased in pairs over the past three years. I finally purchased six new AW IMR 800 mAh 18350 batteries to replace them. The first two of the new batteries that I used work great - they definitely last longer than what I've been using. The third battery that I used today in my GP Paps v4 auto fires.

I know that this became an issue for some with the new AW batteries and that Vapourart, in accordance with their world-class support, shipped out replacement negative screws to accommodate these issues (due to the negative side of the new batteries protruding more than the older versions). I hadn't experienced this issue until now, so I'm going to dig through my spares and try out the new negative pin tonight.

Dropping in after maybe a years hiatus and saw this post...

Hello GP FamilY!!!!!

Gratz girl. Been 3 years for me this month, and another year survived.

I haven't used my VA gear for over a year and a half (some has never been used), and don't plan to use it again. So this is just a drop by to say howdy to the past. My home ECF forum is shutting down with the supplier semi retiring very soon. I'm more than covered for the rest of what's left of my life though with 30 of his best mods and somewhere between 2-3 times that many bf atty's for them, endless spares/supplies. He is the next to the best supplier I have ever dealt with, P is still the king. I will probably be logging off ECF when that forum closes if not before, so this will likely be my last post here.

In looking back I see that Lorrie hasn't been here for weeks, and nobody seems to have noticed that the ever present forum well wisher is not around. Hope she is doing OK. Part of the changes in forums I guess, folks that are not a squeaky wheel are forgotten.

Squeaked long enough... continued best wishes and success Perseas.

It's been a very long time since I
ve been here- hope all are doing well!!!

I've not used any of my GP gear in quite a while as well & not sure what pulled me into this thread tonight but WOW....Spheroid V4!!! I need to start counting my pennies. ;)

Ok, so here's my question- This may have been asked already but you've always been a cool crowd that doesn't mind answering already asked questions.....My Spheroid I believe is V3. Are the V4 bases sold seperately or is this a whole new Spheroid I'd have to purchase?

I guess my next question applies to the Piccolo top cap. I watched Q's vid & I think I heard him say if you buy the Piccolo it comes with a V4 switch. Can the same switch be used on the previous Picc or is this also a whole new purchase?

I saw this tweet by Vapourart - very cool: A new reseller of the GP series products will be online soon for our customers in the States!
I saw that last night too.... Had me scurrying looking for more info. Then I thought about how fast I've always received my GP shipments so a US vendor would be cool but not crucial for me. VapourArt has always been awesome!!!!

I agree - I will continue to purchase new GP mods and atomizers directly from Vapourart, but it's nice to know that if people in the US need something small like fluff, spare springs, etc. that they will be able to source it locally.

The GP Spheroid v4 is a whole new atomizer and there's no compatibility with older versions.

I'm not quite following you. The Piccolo v4 comes with a top cap and switch that is not compatible with older Piccolo versions. If you buy a Piccoloid v4 it will come with a Spheroid v4 with a GPin so you can hybrid it and it will not come with a Piccolo v4 top cap unless you pay extra.

Me to ditto :) I will continue to purchase direct from the Mothership. :)

Along with saying thanks for great gear and support, it's about the regulatory landscape both here in the USA, the TPD, and the rest of the planet. I want to insure that vendors are rewarded to the max and "live to fight another day" if you follow my drift.

:)

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Now is it possible to buy the Piccoloid top cap to make my current Piccolo a hybrid?

I really don't have a need/want for 2 Piccolos.

EDIT~ Nvmd! I just reread what you wrote so that makes the answer to this question a no.

I think you misunderstood my post. The Piccoloid doesn't come with a top cap unless you purchase one separately and it is not needed to make the Piccolo v4 a hybrid. Here's an illustration:

img_0360_a.jpg

The Spheroid v4 pictured above does not have a 510 connection. Instead it has a GPin adapter and the threading is compatible with the Piccoloid v4 so no top cap is needed. It's the exact same idea as the Heron that direct connects to a 20x1 threaded tube without the need for a top cap. I don't believe that the threading on the Spheroid v4 is compatible with earlier Piccolo models so I don't believe that you can hybrid it with what you have. If no one else chimes in I will test it out tonight with a Piccolo v3.1.

EDIT - I see that you now got the gist of what I posted earlier. ;)

The top cap threading on my Piccolo 3.1 and Piccolo v4 are the same. I can use my 16mm v4 top cap on my v3.1 but the tubes are 17mm at each end so it looks weird.

You can remove the center pin and bottom cap of the Spheroid v4's 510 adapter to reveal the same threading as the Piccolo top cap. I can screw a Spheroid v4 onto my Piccolo v3.1 tube (again, the diameters don't match). I have the Spheroid v4 GPin adapter, but I haven't used it yet and I'm not willing to wreck one of my builds to try it right now (the one thing that disappoints me; I wish it was like the Heron v1.x where you can swap between 510 and GPin without disturbing your build).

Thank you so much for passing by! I missed your fascinating stories! Lorrie is well, just preoccupied with the elections. You can find her on Facebook.

Be well my friend :)

I just can't get he wicking right in a fluff less build on the heron v2. I've tried a couple things. With the spheroid I can do the upside down hurricane style wicking as Qorax showed but the heron just dry hit after dry hit. If I lower the amount of cotton then the flooding.

If appreciate pictures. Descriptions have all been covered and I have a lot of experience wicking various things.

Diameter of coil and pictures of dry wick and how it sits though the two small holes would be helpful. I'm starting to think its the way the wifi crimps that's just not working for me.

Thanks for the help. I'm just not into using fluff. I change flavors way too much for that.

I'm afraid that I'm in the same boat as you. I've only been using fluffless Spheroid v4s because they're a dream for me. With a Spheroid I can consistently and reliably build and get a pocket-friendly vape that works every time with never a dry hit with the non-max VG liquids I use (unless I'm not paying attention to the change in taste before a tank runs dry). Unfortunately, I have not yet found a consistent and reliable fluffless build for the Heron v2. I feel like putting my wick through the channels promotes dry hits on both the Spheroid and Heron. I prefer to block off the channels with my wick from inside the small chamber on the Spheroid but the Heron chamber is wider and I don't think that I'm able to do as good of a job as I get leaks. I feel like I wouldn't have a problem if the Heron v2 used the same chamber as the Spheroid v4.
