In the email you posted

This is David Yang from China, manufacturer of ecig, I used to sell you 50 cigarette carts from Ebay. our ebay name is ecigaretteworld , runned by my Newzealand friends Micheal. For some reason, Ebay just refused us to sell our ecigarette, I guess maybe some one report us because of our good price.

My name is Michael, I am the person that Yang is referring to in that email. I am also the person in the postings made by Dr Richard Fell ... The person David has blamed for the problems.

Atomisers update.

I've had Davids atomisers now for nearly 2 months and they are still as good as new - this is as good as it gets for me, previously Atomisers from other sources lasted maybe a week before begining to deteriorate.

At the moment I'm using them with a temporary battery pack (just 3 AA batteries in a maplin battery holder, with a manual switch, all held together with rubber bands! effective but crude) - Davids atomisers have a lower resistance element than the others I've had, about 3 ohms, so they are pulling about 25% more current, when my AA batteries are fully charged the current is about 1150 millamps and, if I forget myself and take a long looong puff the atomiser does get a bit hot.

When this happens it invariably overcooks the fluid and starts to taste burnt.

I find that after a good soak in hot (60 deg C) water and allowing to dry on a warm radiator overnight makes the atomiser as good as new again.

I do have a problem with the battery though' - my own fault - I overdripped the cartridge and atomiser and got quite a lot of e-juice inside the battery, this has caused the switch to become 'sticky' - I tried blowing through it, from the led end, but couldn't shift it.

Does anyone have a quick fix for curing this that doesn't involve the use of too much heat or any liquid............. ?

I can't really say how the batteries perform over a long period as I only used that battery for a couple of days, just to make sure it was OK - I re-charged it a couple of times and it appeared to charge very well, I was using my old Gamucci charger and it certainly seemed to get a better charge than the Gamucci batteries. (which are crap anyway ....!)

With the above reservations I'd say that that David's batteries are as good as any of the better quality makes.

The lithium batteries presently used in e-cigs are not really up to the job anyway and I'm sure that before long something much better will be available from all the better e-cig makers - at the moment, AFAIK, if you want better batteries, the only options are Trog's 'Screwdriver' or a home made lash-up like I'm using at the moment.

As soon as the weather gets a bit warmer, and I can get back in the workshop, I'll be making something for myself that looks a bit less like an IED and a bit more like a medical inhaler.........as I'm still finding that the 'ban everything' brigade still regard e-cigs as the devils work.

Personally, I'd love to be p1ss1ng them off at every oportunity but at the moment I'm thinking "what they can't see, they can't complain about" When e-smoking is accepted for what it is, i.e. a much safer way of getting our nic-fix, we'll all be able to p1ss 'em off, 'til then, better safe than sorry....

I revived what I thought was a dead battery by putting a tissue over the screw end of the bat and sucking on it. A whole bunch of black stuff came out (it was gross!). I did this until no more came out and the battery has worked fine since. It seems it was too much juice in there. Don't know if this would work for you but it might be worth a try. I checked my other bats and they were fine. Now I check them every so often just to see if anything comes out that shouldn't be :D

That sounds like that'll be worth a go Lu - got the battery warming up on one of the rads at the moment - I'll give it a good seeing to later.................

David's extended sets, I don't know if that's what they are actually called, they come with USB connector, manual and auto switches, and I think, other goodies - I don't think they are on the Eastmall website yet - I'm sure that David will be along soon to explain all.

I find that the Chinese are polite, efficient and very pleasant to do business with.

You are just lucky with that chinese. I am doing business with chinese guys at european e-cig in The Netherlands, and my experiences are totally different.

It is true, they say "yes" to everything, but that "yes" turns out to be "no" in practice. You will never receive a single replacement part for a DOA article, and their advertised special offers are mere lies.

You are absolutely correct. I have the same experience. Not with e-cigs but with other products.

Its not totally impossible to do business with them. You just need time and experience. Once you get used to their "practices", doing business with them will make more sense. Besides, all e-cigs are from China and I don't see this changing anytime soon. I guess you just took a valuable lesson and it will serve you well.

When I first checked out bestecig, I asked a question. Beci there answered me within minutes. After a couple more questions and quick answers, I placed an order. He sent it right out and I had it in 5 days. The same with my next couple of orders. He was pleasant to communicate with, as I found with David.

I haven't received a bad part yet so I don't know what that would be like but as of right now, all my experience with them has been positive.
