Could be e-liquids too - the ProTank supposedly struggles a little with high VG liquids if you don't pull a flavour wick (can't say for sure though, I'm using 70/30's in mine - flavour wicks are better in than out).

I run 50/50 liquid in my PT1 and EVODs and have NEVER had to pull a wick.

I've never used replacement heads other than what have come with my protanks, and of the two each that came with my pt3 and mini pt2, I ended up rebuilding all of them after one tank. Both pt3 coils gurgled and flooded into uselessness, wasting almost an entire tank of juice each. The mini pt2 heads didn't gurgle, gave good flavor and vapor, but had an odd taste to them.
I don't think I'd ever buy another pt3, but lamentably have a second on the way that I got on sale for $10.

Wow, this thread blew up. I've noticed a visceral, real, very true drop in Kanger quality. It's the bane of my existence. A dream job turned into having to explain why, "This thing leaks..."

With Chinese New Year looming ahead... I'm good. Stocked with cartos. Other than juice, I need little else. But all those poor new converts.... Leaky Kanger T3s's, spotty Evods, crappy atomizer heads, then the imposing lack of them, whether good or bad...

It's gon' be bad.

There is no true escape.

For all of you tried and true ECF'ers, telling a complete noob to rebuild a Protank or Evod into a microcoil with cotton will not cut it. We're dealing with stock heads, man. Stock heads and that's it.

I agree the protank 3 heads are NOT consistent at all. HOWEVER...I love my PT3. Once I do get a good head on it it rocks for about 10 days. In a pack of 5 4 are good so........I don't know....I do know that my local BnM will take them back and replace them for me so I go in every couple weeks and replace the heads that didn't work for me.

My duals work pretty well; sausage fingers aren't the best for making triples on such a small platform.

I do prefer the vertical hollow though.

And 2 weeks after they came out you couldn't GIVE AWAY a brand new vivi nova kit. Which was of course, the *darling* of the vaping community before this.

It's like fashion. Make short skirts the rage one year, then next season make them long....taht way everyone needs to replace their wardrobe. and that my friends is how to make $$$$.

I started vaping when the Vivi Nova craze was happening. I still use them as my only liquid delivery system.
I don't have to worry about tank cracking liquids, I just don't vape those. I love my Nova's

What I'm wondering is if all these issues with Kanger replacement heads aren't related to knockoffs, original Kanger heads have the ohm resistance engraved in the side of the head/coil..the knockoffs don't.

I'm very new to this, but all my (many) tanks are kanger and I haven't had a problem with any of them. The Mini Pro II s are my favourites... no leaks, no gurgles, no gargles, no burps... just vapor....

What most of us that rebuild protank heads have found out is it is the grommet on the bottom that either wears out or gets burned eventually.

I look at the 25 fasttech knockoff evod heads I bought as spare parts only

Did you even bother to listen to him? He attacked all of the tank systems with replaceable coil heads as being inconsistent, not just the PT.

It would be easy to get insulting to people who misrepresent the facts.

The problem probably has nothing to do with Kanger or any of the other tank systems, but the tsunami of clones and clones of clones on the marketplace.

I have compared original Kanger's to clones and cannot tell the difference, and I have spent a good chunk of my professional life in dealing with ultra precision machinery and measurement, even though I started out as a Chemical Engineer. That part of my career did not last long because the company though I would be better in lasers and optics.

Go to the Fasttech site or Alibaba, and you will find the same products with the same name being offered by different sources.

My gut feeling is that the ecig market world wide is a lot bigger than the current estimates, or else why bother to clone a $10 device and sell it for half the price unless you had the volumes to justify it? Fasttech carries some 6,000 items on their online catalog.

...and this is the reason I abandoned the idea of rebuilding these heads & moved to RBAs. It got irritating to rebuild a coil & have the grommet tear after all that. Annoying. The heads I have left are just spares for my backup.

But when I did use my evod I have to say that all the heads I used (which lasted me a surprisingly long time) worked properly without rebuilding. Guess I was lucky.
