I recently quit smoking. I went the route of ecigs -- roughy started last year -- and smoked ecigs for about 3 weeks or so. I started to develop phlegm. (There is a post I started about liquid nic might "potentially" be causing more harm then good, in light of the phlegm that it causes to develop on some people).
Anywho, back then I was bummed that I couldn't vape. So I went back to analogs. Tried quitting a couple of times during last year, but then went back to smoking.
This year, in Jan, I ran into an old buddy of mine (ex smoker , now for 2 years), and he told me he had quit after reading a book. of course, I laughed at him. How can a book help you quit smoking! So, he said that if I want to quit, he'll bring in the book. I had been wanting to quit for some time now, so I asked him to bring it.
I read the book. Smoked my last cig on 2/12/11, and haven't smoked since!
The book is: The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. Author: Allen Carr.
If anyone really wants to quit, I would recommend this book in a heartbeat. The thing is, you have to want to quit. The book will help to put you in the right frame of mind to quit. Get your self a copy for about $4 - $8 (used - new). It doesn't hurt to read it.
If you are resourceful, you'll find a pdf copy online as well as the Audiobook
I wanted to post in here, so others that are looking to quit can benefit from my experiences and rid themselves of this nasty habit.
Best!
