Baked some bread this morning:

i-7fSBkr2.jpg

and then got this crazy craving for Chili to go with the bread, but missing the basic ingredients to make any. Creative hat goes on, and with some brainstorming with Classwife, I'm using shredded roast beef (made yesterday) and brown lentils instead of ground beef and kidney beans. The rest of the recipe will be classic chili, but mild enough that Chloe can enjoy it too.

Enough to go around, so feel free to drop in. ;)

Note: Did I mention that Classwife was making Chili, and that's where I got the crazy craving?! Yeah, we do that to each other.. talk about food and drive the others nuts. :D

And I'm having burritos from the microwave with a can of chili. Although to be fair I don't know what baked ziti is. Yes I know how to cook. I'm just to lazy to do it.

So glad you are back....along with your smilies! ;)

Here is her recipe...although I'm already simplifying it...I don't do fancy and my son won't eat fancy. But baked ziti is basically pasta, tomato sauce, and cheese.

And she's funny...at the top of her site..."one calf nut at a time"............

Is THAT what it's called?!

I've been calling it my pasta lasagna for ages now, and Chloe LOVES it.. LOL

I don't go all out with the Ricotta and stuff, but instead use a grated cheese blend that Costco carries. Simple cooking at it's best.

Love her style of writing. Very down to earth. I think I'm going to need to check out her other recipes. She seems like a woman after mine own heart!

Thanks for introducing me, RJ!

From the site: "My name is Ree. I'm a desperate housewife. I live in the country. I channel Lucille Ball, Vivien Leigh, and Ethel Merman. Welcome to my frontier!"

I like her already!!

Its been a fun day! Started out with a 10 mile ride on my vintage Specialized mountain bike. The old girl still rides like a dream even at 17 years old.

Later this afternoon, I pulled out my old Cannondale road bike, slipped in a couple of new tubes and took a quick 1 mile road trip. I was back home in 2 minutes :p The Dale is a 1987, and is a rough riding beast, but sure is a frikkin rocket!!

Now, a bit of relaxation before firing up the grill. Ribeyes, Mrs Tater is making her cheesy potatoes, and steamed broccoli with a dash of adobo and Everglades. What a great day :D

I've been working some Powder Keg in a VV Grand. More Volts, more Coconut. Less Volts, more Rich Chocolate.

Every time somebody mentions Powder Keg, they should also include the sound effect "BOOM!" with it..

Well, BK may just make that happen..so, let's wait and see. :)

Dripped some Gaia this afternoon. Add this to the earthy family of flavors from HHV that also includes Huntsman, Dark Horse, and Maple, Eh. Gaia is less grassy than Huntsman and Maple, Eh with a malt note but definitely Earthy. It's an interesting flavor that I am still trying to wrap my mind around. It might be more of a hopped up Dark Horse.

Adam said Huntsman is a real hit at his store so it should come as no surprise that he added two more Earthies to his lineup.
