Hey Ray, just occurred to me - did you get checked out for peptic or duodenal ulcers or pancreatitis? Just a thought ( I was thinking about when a member of my family had that problem) - though Guinness might probably heal all ulcers and be a terrific anti inflammatory....

Yes. Negative for all which also points toward its being the gall bladder.

Hula one night after work I was sitting in a pub that serves Guinness on tap having a few when a man walked up and said he noticed what I was drinking . He turned out to be a teacher from Dublin on vacation in NOLA . We sat drinking and talking until the sun came up and when we got up to leave his legs buckled and I had to grab him and prop him up . He had a confused look on his face and I leaned over and told him my mother's name is McCaffery he laughed his azz off and said " Oh my God I've been trying to outdrink another Irishman " . true story , hell of a good time .

Tooo funny! LOLOLOL I used to be able to drink 8 (english pints) of Newcastle Brown in my day, but I don't think I could keep up with an Irishman.

Dang. Was just a thought. Sometimes those stones can be too little to spot and can cause a block in the bile duct. Whatever it is, I hope this was the worst attack you'll ever experience and that it gets sorted for you quickly. Time for me to retire for the night - morning shift will be here soon. Goodnight all!

8 pints is a good average but I know I've more than doubled that on occasion , but I'm not a little guy either I'm 6'1 with a hollow leg .

Ditto on the Huntsman and the Guinness on tap absolutely for people of discerning taste !

Starting to see a pattern here. Guinness is GREAT for cooking with too.. Good food (self cooked), Huntsman & Guinness for people of discerning taste!

I don't even try. (To win at least)

I'd say I have Irish ancestors, and it would be the truth. But the real truth is I have ancestors from just about the whole of Western Europe.

We have one line that can be traced exclusively to one nation. My paternal grandfather was 100% Italian - All of his ancestors from what we've found so far hailed from the Abruzzo region.

My paternal grandmother was more diverse: Irish, English (both southern and northern), Welsh, Scottish, and.. Swedish? (odd one to throw in there)

Maternal grandfather was mostly German. But as we dug into it, we found ancestors from Austria, Belgium, Norway and Denmark. (the latter 2 going a long way back. I couldn't believe they could track it back that far)

My maternal Grandmother was Irish, German, Scottish, and one lone ancestor from Switzerland.

Pretty much all I'm missing is France, Portugal, Spain and the rest of the "Nordic" countries. LOL

My sister plans on doing that DNA study some day. That'll be interesting.
