Pappy any thoughts on you're 3.1 yet ?

I was out of town Tuesday through Thursday. The 3.1 was waiting here when I got home last night. I washed it with Dawn and let it dry overnight.

I built my first microcoil this afternoon. 10 or 11 wraps of 28ga kanthal on a 5/64 (1.8mm +/-) drill bit. It's reading 1.8 ohms on my Provari, so I consider that a success!

It's vaping fine. But I think I screwed up when I filled it (from the top - not through the fill screw thingy). I didn't hold my finger over the air hole and then flip it upside down like pbusardo shows. I'm getting a tiny gurgle ever so often, so I think I flooded it just a bit.

But I like it fine. I'm not getting the "amazing" flavor I've heard about, but the coil and wick are brand new so I didn't expect it either.

P.S.: I know you offered to buy it from me if I didn't like it, but I think it's a keeper. Plus, my wife and I used it in bed last night, so you probably wouldn't want it. :D

I didn't get great flavor either Pappy but I think it's just me. I've made all of two coils for it...but the flavor just comes off as metallic to me. I need to fiddle with it and I just haven't had the time. And I'm coming from dripping which gives the best flavor. But the Kayfun clan can't be wrong...so I need to spend more time with it I suppose.

And Retic that grub screw worked! Makes all the difference and now my throat doesn't hurt from all the airflow. Thanks again! ;)

RJ, I don't know jack diddly about them so I'll be no trouble-shooting help. But did you watch the pbusardo video where he shows how to build the coil and wick?

I hope you get it figured out. The General certainly loves his and so do a lot of others. I'm glad I got it just to prove to myself that I can do it.

I get wonderful vapor...but the flavor isn't there. It's very easy to fill and making a coil isn't anything different than a Vivi except for the small screws. I'll keep it in my rotation...but I still prefer dripping. I really think a Reo is the answer for me...and maybe one day I'll suck it up and spend the money for one. And I will NEVER be able to choose my color.... One day I say black wrinkle...and the next day copper...and then the next day maroon.

Copper vein, silver vein, or black wrinkle. Any of them would do. Or, black wrinkle with a copper vein door. Or . . . . . :D

LOL you can keep it Pappy , I sometimes get a slight gurgle after I fill because I really soak my coil and wick with juice to prime it , I usually just bump the power up a bit and it clears in a couple of hits , what kind of wick did you use ?

We had a wonderful evening. My parents came over and I bought a bunch of pizzas and breadsticks. We all watched several episodes of Family Feud on GSN and laughed until our sides hurt. That Steve Harvey is hilarious! Then son and I OD'd on the chocolate my parents gave us and what I gave son. We are drowning in chocolate over here. I am officially Valentined out. Full as a tick and a little woozy from all the chocolate. So now I'm drinking beer. :toast: This was a great night for me surrounded by my favorite people. :) And pizza. And beer. And CHOCOLATE!

    :vapor:

Was waiting on a coupon code for altsmoke to order more batteries but none came out....(scratches head)....I guess I'll wait to see if they have a President's Day coupon.

Happy Valentine's Day! I need to stop by on my way home from work and pick my son up a box of turtles chocolate....and liquor for me. :D I think I'll spend some time on the deck just like David's smiley. ;)

Sounds like a plan to me.

You can smack me for this later.

You're welcome RJ , try a microcoil with cotton when you rebuild RJ , it's worth a shot .
