It's Ray's turn to get Kayfunned , after he heals up that is , how are you feeling Ray ?
Thanks for asking.
The past 2 days haven't been so hot as I deal with concussion symptoms. That, and the swelling in my head needed to go somewhere, so now I feel it over half of my head and into my neck. Mind you, the swelling has gone down, but it also dispersed. I saw myself in the mirror for the first time today (odd, that) and realized the left side of my head expands outwards more than the right. ugh.
Saw the doctor yesterday. Told him of my "room spinning" moments when I move too fast or change positions and he basically said "Yeah. That happens." When I asked when it would stop he was less than encouraging "maybe never." The long and short of it is that my vertigo isn't directly from the head trauma. When we get to a certain age, we develop granules (I think that's how he explained it) within our middle ear. Normally, they stay put. But a hard shot to the head can dislodge them. So now whenever I change the orientation of my head, they'll move and cause a momentary feeling of vertigo. Ugh.
The wound on my head decided to start draining today. I've already ruined 2 shirts and 2 pillow cases. Yuck.
Couple that with a general sense of fatigue, more pain on the impact site than I had the day after, and yeah...
I'm holding up.

Just not feeling very energetic or go-get-em right now.
And here I was thinking I'd return to work tomorrow. No way. Now I know why the doc chuckled when I asked him that and said no - take at least a week. He did warn me it would get worse before it got better.
It's not all bad news. My youngest - despite my protests for over a year - decided she wanted to follow her Mom and Dad and join the USAF. She leaves Monday. We had her going away party today and it went very well. I even held up for it. She's excited and I support her. But she's still my baby girl, ya know?
