just wow.... what a day.. well it started 4 am Sat... ended about 4:30 sunday 1086 miles for that 24 hrs and 3650 miles for the week... I iz tired ;)

that last run was 740 miles round trip... the company charged a minimum of 488$ to do it plus weekend, plus nite time, plus holiday (weekend) so the bill came to about 590$ to make the run from new orleans to Memphis... had to pick the item up from FedEx and deliver to Memphis area... 370 ish miles one way... well all I have to say is someone in FedEx is gonna get a major .... chewing... the package I delivered was from Walmart in Arkansas ( how it got to Nola was a mystery)( probably the main distribution warehouse) ... it was a 28$ blanket... come on!! 590$ to deliver a 28$ blanket??? o_O:shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:o_Oo_O

when I first picked up the package, it had some info on it as to what it was (blanket)... so I figured it was some really old family heirloom being given as a present for Xmas ( why else would someone spend that kind of money to deliver)... I got to the site of delivery and asked the reciever what kind of blanket it was... she said it was something she ordered from Walmart... I said no way!!! she showed me the label and sure as all gitout, the return address ( sender) was Walmart AR.

I dont mind getting paid but if it is gonna cost someone their job........
That's nuts!

Good morning, Merry Christmas Eve! I love how this Christmas falls on Monday. I get Tuesday off as well, so 5 days at home. Problem: made the Christmas treats too early; staying out of them has been impossible and not as much left to take to my Moms tonight.. Kids and DH have enjoyed it tho!

If it had been Three Wise Women ;
They would've asked for Directions.
They would've Arrived on Time.
They would've cleaned the Manger.
They would've helped Deliver the Birth.
They would've brought Gifts that meant something.
There would be Peace on Earth.

@PapawBrett - I'm sorry you didn't get those packages on time... just think of it as an excuse to celebrate longer. That singer in your video has a beautiful voice!

I am happy to announce all my purchases and holiday packages were in fact delivered on time to everyone. :) kudos to USPS.

@Bunnykiller - that's crazy! Nothing like keeping costs down! (Yes, that was sarcasm)

@ everyone - Merry Christmas to all of you!

I'm still baking like mad... I have four loaves worth of bread dough rising at current moment and am resting for a bit before starting on the pies.

I sincerely hope everyone has a very lovely Holiday... enjoy your freinds and family and beautiful and bountiful meals! (And hopefully a small present or two!)

:) My prayers are with you all.

BK take it easy on the Red Bull. That can cause a problem with your heart. Too much work and stress combined with not enough sleep can make it easy for you to develop a health condition that will be with you for the rest of your life. I speak from personal experience.

New season of Life Below Zero begins on Jan. 4. Yay! Love that show along with Alaska: The Last Frontier, Mountain Men, Alaskan Bush People, Edge of Alaska, The Last Alaskans, and Port Protection. I'm so jealous of those people. I'm living in the wrong body. I was meant to live a subsistence life fending for survival on a daily basis. :)

Senility will play tricks on your mind, Bronze.
You moved from Chicago to Wake Forest, repeatedly express gratitude for being further south whenever the Midway gets hammered in the wintertime, and now you want to freeze your :censored: off because of a TV Show ????
Maybe there are some Christmas wishes better left unanswered....

LMAO! Living in isolation hunting and gathering for my own survival would be the only thing to lure me to the Great White North. :)

This is one show I am addicted to. It wasn't until several seasons in that we find out the daughter of one of the main characters is jewel, the singer/songwriter.

Happy belated birthday Classy!

Thank you !

I have bread pudding in the oven - an experiment - this time I also added a can of apple pie filling.
Smells good.
Will make to toppings for it. One a cream cheese/powdered sugar/milk and the other a salted caramel.
Trying to decide if I also want to make sugar cookies and snickerdoodles...

The 2 Guys In RED

They both use the same letters to spell their name...
They both employ short pointy eared helpers...
They both have cloven hoofed animals in service...
They both prefer the color red....
They both live in habitats that are harsh for people to live in...
They both "give" you something for "something" in return....

Kinda makes you wonder about Santa and Satan... ;)

I LOVE bread pudding, but my wife hates it so she never makes it. Some bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream - just doesn't get much better than that.

I guess I've been living in Texas too long. The few cold days we get each winter are miserable to me. Even when it's 35 - 40 and the wind is blowing 20-30mph (like today), the wind chill just freezes my hands.

I was out feeding the cows and checking the electric fence this morning, and it was miserable.
