Chicken Pot Pie? I've never made that, but a friend of mine used to. I haven't made Chicken and Dumplings in ages. I've always loved it though. My mom didn't like it, so she never cooked it. My grandma used to make it, and I always made a pig out of myself when she did. Chicken and Dumplings is easy, but takes a good while to do.

Pot pie means I’d have to learn to make a good pie crust. That can be tricky. I also gorged on Chicken and Dumplings as a kid! I used to watch and hope for some pieces of raw dough. Can’t do that today if there’s egg in the dough. More ways the times have changed.

LA, she thought I was tormenting her. She didn't know I was trying to help her. I know it must feel better. If you've ever had a stye, you know how awful they can be. I would imagine the cherry eye might be even more uncomfortable. I'm just so happy to get it back in. There is a lot of pollen out now, I don't know if that caused it or not. I did read it can be hereditary. Yes, it is better not to have surgery if at all possible. They need that third eyelid, and that cherry eye is just a prolapsed third eye. Cats can also get it, but not nearly as often as dogs.

They never realize we are caring for them. Thankfully, their memories are short. The thought of caring for my cat’s eye the way you did for Cassie just made my hair turn grayer! Now I have to go pray it never happens to her!

Final result! Some of those lumps are chunks of Parmesan. But I’d never get hired by @retic1959 by showing this as my signature dish. ;)

They are what they are , there is no way to make a presentation out of Gnocchi without over complicating it IMO . You did just fine with them .

Yes. All damn summer and fall long! [i.e. "Hurricane Season"]

Ugh. Stay safe my dear! I don’t know how you FL folks do it. Not that living in the desert is that much more fun. But those storms lately are scary. Maryland was hit hard. Saw some crazy pics. Oh my!

Anyone in harm's way for the sub-tropical rainstorm?

Just rain, rain, rain and more rain. I'm am so over this weather pattern.

We have suicidal worms that escape the overly saturated earth and drown in the pool. Dumb things.

Bk and I should be in the clear , Robin might get some rain from it , maybe .

Some rain? Hah. Bands of the stuff all day. Cloudy, rainy, thunderstorms, windy. I'm ready to see that beautiful yellow orb again.

That flooding in Maryland was scary. I watched a couple of videos.

Live loading a flatbed in the rain.
Then I get to drive within four miles of Lowe's Motor Speedway en route to my customer. On the other end of what might be the worst 18 mile road construction site in Carolina, I-77 north of Charlotte. In the rain.
    Happy Holidays.

    . . . And Chicken Pot Pie!

I was born and raised on a farm and learned to eat whatever was put in front of me. So I can eat just about anything. But I CANNOT eat chicken pot pie.

I survived on those things when I was a broke college student. I could buy 6 of them for $1.00 on sale at the grocery store. I burned out on them, and I can't look a chicken pot pie square in the eye any more.

I went to a restaurant somewhere and ordered their chicken and dumplings. They brought me a chicken pot pie. When I explained to the server that it wasn't chicken and dumplings, she argued with me.

I'm the same way with Kraft dinners and the store brand (10-for-a-buck) mac and cheese. I can eat the Annie's brand ones, but even they have their limits.

How funny! Growing up, what we called Chicken Pot Pie was actually Chicken and (flat) Dumplings! And I ate way too many of those store bought pot pies (I preferred the beef) to ever have one again. But a homemade one might make the cut for me.

Yes to Annie’s if anything. Most Mac n cheese is a no-go. Too heavy.

I survived on frozen pizza for a couple of months while prepping the house for sale. Had no time and no money for anything else. Now I never look at them in the freezer isle. If I did, it’d be “Cleanup in aisle 4!”
