I agree. I won't say what I think they remind me off, because everyone would be so grossed out, I'd probably "break the internet". (and yes, I HATE those stupid sayings too, with a vengeance).

tis a shame we really cant say what we think... half of of us would be dying on the floor laughing and the other half in total shock...

General, I've never understood why they didn't equip a few of those landing craft with reinforced doors with slits in them and load snipers in there and let them take out the personnel in those bunkers, including those German machine gun emplacements.
Warfare was so different than today. It more resembled the Revolutionary War where they just stood in front of each other and kept shooting until the last man was down. Nowadays, we'd send in our warplanes and blow the living hell out of the battlefield before we send ground troops. I like how they term it, "soften them up". I don't see what is so soft about an AC-130 gunship showering the battlefield with 55 caliber lead heads.

was chatting with one of the workers today and guns interred the coversation.. altho the guy I was chatting with does own a 22, I mentioned I have a 460mag... he instantly jumped on me about owning a firearm with THAT much power....
why do I need something that big...
I asked him why do you need a car that goes faster than the speed limit ( he has a hopped up Camero, claims it does 165mph)..... touche'

They tried to soften them up with artillery. But the bombardment only lasted about 45 minutes, or so I've read. And we just didn't have enough warships with the large artillery that would have been necessary to deal with those bunkers.
