From the little checking I had time to do it seemed to be all four of them. It's not really a problem because the receiver doesn't do any upscaling for the TV. And the sound is much the same with the optical cable. I'll still pull it out and have a look. When I was checking I could get a signal when I pushed on the port. Makes me to think a bad connection.

I think a purist audiophile would say the optical connection is better than HDMI. I’m not sure about that though. Depends on the audiophile. It’s one of those things they love to argue about. Like vapers and mech vs. regulated. :)

lol... I remember when audiophiles fought over transistor and tube amps.... gawdimold!!

Yes! I encountered that for guitar amps. Hilarious!

And don’t let the music industry fool us. The reason they are bringing vinyl back is not for the fidelity of the sound. It’s.... wait for it.....

Because you have to PAY for it.

Well crud.. My Roku lost the video. Switched cables and it back. So it looks like my 10ft HDMI cable is bad. Think I'll use the one I hooked up for a few days first. If it keeps working then it'll be time to go online and place an order. guess while I'm at it I'll figure out what I need for a new setup and order extras. Why buy them online you wonder? This is why. Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable, 4K @ 60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 28AWG, YUV 4:4:4, 3ft, Black - Monoprice.com I'm willing to wait for that price. Also it's where I bought the cables when I first got the TV. It's lasted 7 or 8 years. No cable I've bought at a store has lasted. And stores are overpriced when it comes to their cheap HDMI cables.

I’ve seen mostly reports that it was suicide by hanging. Just like Kate Spade. Very sad. I enjoyed some of his shows. RIP.
Loved his early shows. Then he started taking himself too seriously and became a self-righteous prat. I feel very sorry for his daughter and am sad to see he's gone though.

Well, they look rough because they are hand-pulled and hand-torn and it was my first time.

But dang! These were incredible!!! Simple ingredients. Deep umami and a spicy kick.

One step involved cooking Szechuan peppercorns in hot oil. They aren’t from a pepper plant at all. They are also known as prickly ash and have a fragrant flavor. They also numb your tongue. You strain them out of the hot oil which is then infused with them.

The hot oil is poured over crushed garlic, scallions and ground Chinese red peppers as they sit on top of the bed of noodles. It sizzles and cooks them right over the noodles!

I can’t wait to make these again. :)

Never liked Anthony Bourdain (he was definitely full of himself). But I did like his Parts Unknown show. It was interesting once I got past him.

Certainly at seventy-three, I am well, very deep well, beyond discerning the difference. Heck, I even think my Tacoma radio is good but the Tacoma forum tells me it stinks.

Might have found my backup Linux distro . Basically Open Suse made easier for multimedia anyway . Suse Linux is a german company that makes enterprise class linux for business , ie big servers and it's not free . Open Suse is the free version that only uses patent free software , meaning it's a royal PITA if you want to watch Netflix or play a DVD . Gecko Linux takes open Suse and adds the support for multimedia . So pretty much enterprise class Linux for the average user . Gonna play with it in a virtual machine and see what happens . What is a Chinese red pepper?

It’s actually called red chili - I keep calling them peppers by mistake. Sometimes they are served whole in a dish, though you don’t eat them like that because they’ve been dried. And it would set your head on fire. For this recipe I had to grind them. I forgot to hold my breath when I opened the grinder lid. Phew! My sinuses are cured!

Think fermented and dried cayenne pepper , about the same heat level .

Yes, exactly! I put a fair amount on my noodles. My mouth was zzzzziningggg!!! The guy whose video I learned from used a lot more. Yikes!
