And my first computer had Ami Pro. It was purchased by Lotus, and was a truly great word processor. Maybe not as powerful as WordPerfect but more user friendly at that time. Word was the worst, but emerged the winner. Go figger.

Oh my! I had forgotten about Ami Pro. I never used it but I remember seeing it and reading about it in PC Mag and PC World. All this was new and exciting stuff back then.

Have you checked the Windows updates? Perhaps you can uninstall any MS updates?
Yep. Looked to see the last time I used Word (when I knew it worked) and then looked at any updates since. There were two MS updates. I uninstalled one. Made no difference. Went to uninstall the other and there is no option to uninstall it.. So maybe that update screwed up Word. I have no way of telling.

Check the Firefox options in those 4 squiggly lines at the top right. Could be a security setting.
Not finding any setting that is obvious at first glance.

Unless you're sharing to the web, NONE of the MS updates are critical.
Agree, but like I say there was no option to uninstall one of those updates.

Yes, Limburger smells like a buffalo fart. It's horrible.
And you know this, how?

That tunnel picture looks abandoned to me. I guess I have seen too many scary movies, as to what may be in there. You don't know how long it is, or what might be in there. It may be fully functional, who knows for sure. Whatever it is, I wouldn't be going in to find out.

We may get some rain today, who knows. Yesterday I lost electricity for a while. That stunk because the temp was hovering close to 100 deg. It was sunny and breezy. Even my mom mentioned yesterday that she has never seen such wind in the summer before. I agreed. The only time I see wind or breeze in the summer is when a storm front is rolling in. Once the storm passes the wind goes back down. It is so dry I am still leaving some water out for the poor birds. I dump the water before dark. I don't want wild animals to be attracted to my yard, or mosquitoes.

Yes! A buffalo who’s been eating Limburger, then farting. And I’m hoping you don’t have firsthand experience with smelling buffalo farts. ;)

Oh my! I had forgotten about Ami Pro. I never used it but I remember seeing it and reading about it in PC Mag and PC World. All this was new and exciting stuff back then.

Oh wow! I read those mags cover to cover back in the day. So exciting!

lol.... and now we have computers that are 3000 times faster with gigs of memory and they are still too slow...
o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Our computers got faster, the programs got bloated AND our patience and attention spans went into the negative range.

So Lori fixed me up with her unused copy of Office 2010. So far so good. It opens and closes all my 2000 files. Just have to test it on AutoCAD next. Maybe I can send my copy of 2000 to BK. It will probably work on his Tandy.

Might work. If not, I have a copy of Office 95 to send him. :D

You be da bleedin' edge, General.

Hey! @Bronze must have promoted @Bunnykiller! And I wasn’t even invited to the ceremony.

Just saw this article. Relates to the spam calls I got. Last week I had another spam voice mail in Chinese. That was a first.

Employees at a National Weather Service office in Maryland were startled when a random message suddenly blared over the intercom in Chinese

A quote from the article:
In April, the Chinese Embassy in the US warned of an uptick in automated scam calls claiming to be from the embassy. The fraudulent calls urge people to pick up packages, or respond to criminal cases in which they are allegedly involved.
