@retic1959 - LOVE the pics! I remember when RJ & April visited. I don't remember seeing the pic on the steps though.

As for your Halloween desktop... tonight's nightmare images have been set. Thanks, pal.

    ;)
I took that shot along with the shot of the unknown couple . Wish I had some from inside the house . Something was playing with April's hair in there .

I am okay so far. We are under a tornado watch until later this evening. Untold counties are under this same watch. I did see that the moisture from the Gulf is very warm. So even if the rain, hail and wind doesn't get us, it will collide with the cold front. It is nerve wracking. They are expecting a few tornadoes and up to ping pong sized hail. So we have cold from the west hitting our warmth. Even if that isn't too bad, once we cool down the heat from below will hit us. The storm front is pushing through many states after it leaves us.

So with the watches and radar, now you can see what I mean. This isn't just going to effect us. The green above are areas that are under flood watches too. All of the yellow outlines are tornado watches. I don't remember seeing that many counties under a watch at one time, before. I guess it probably happened, but I can't remember it if it did.

The red areas are tornado warnings. The round areas that look like paw prints are heavy rain. The bright green chartreuse color areas are flood warnings. I'm just adding that in case you might not know that.

A little FYI for Halloween . Last month I went to make an insurance payment to the agent that BK and I use who just happens to own the property that BK and I worked at in Mississippi where I had the encounter with the thing that growls like godzilla and screams like a ten foot tall howler monkey . He spotted me and called me back to his office and proceeds to tell me , there is something not right on the property and I tell him , No s--t Sherlock . He proceeds to tell me that he was sitting on the porch with some friends when something came stomping through the woods making that subsonic growl that you feel in your chest . It grabbed two 30 foot tall pine trees about 8-10 feet apart and started banging them together with extreme violence .

He said it was so violent that he knew this thing could have snapped the trees like twigs or uprooted them with ease . It terrified him and his friends and they ran inside and he grabbed a .300 magnum rifle and waited to see if this thing was gonna break in . I asked him why he didn't go back out after it with the rifle and he said he was afraid of what would happen if he shot and missed . I told him the only way I would walk around that property at night again is with a 10ga magnum loaded with slugs and buckshot with the plug removed to fit more rounds in . I figure a close to .80 caliber slug might give this thing some second thoughts .

Bk and I will go back up at some point , Bk thinks the place is cursed , it could get interesting .

Dumb squirrel crawled in the hole on this propane tank cover and then couldn't get out. Dope!

The top half of his body was sticking above the hole and his arms were flailing all over the place. He's lucky I happened to be looking at it at the time so I knew to let him out.

So I had a miserable day at work. Drizzling rain, day three of a sore throat and my left ear feeling plugged and hurting. After work I went to Urgent Care. I do have a little bit of a cold. But the main problem is an infection in the left ear. That's draining and causing my sore throat. So an antibiotic with penicillin for 10 days and Mucinex for 7 to 10 days. and toss in 600mil of ibuprofen. Knew it was more than just a average cold.

Bummer. But the good news is you got it properly diagnosed. Should get better in two or three days.

I asked her. Potatoes, Milk, Butter, Onions and Bacon Bits.
We used to have somethin' like that in England - whatever was left over from Sunday lunch or any other day's dinner, taters, meat, cabbage, whatever, chuck it in a frying pan with some liquid and fat, and voila! "Bubble n Squeak" Of course, we true Brits believe there int nuthin' in this world that doesn't taste better when it's fried....mars bars, battered sausages, cabbage, taters, boiled eggs wrapped in sausage meat, covered with breadcrumbs ...and fried......

The tornado watch is over for me thank goodness. At one point the rain was coming down so hard that it filled up my clay bowl gauge within an hour. That is a full days worth of very good rain. So there is some flooding going on, but I'm not sure how bad. A friend of mine told me the river was over the banks. There is a flood warning until the 5th or 6th, I can't remember which now. I was bailing water for a good while. It is still raining, but not too hard right now. I am going to stay up just in case, until the storm passes completely.

Not too many kids were out this evening. A group of older teens were roaming out in the street. Later I heard some loud stuff, and I thought a tree was coming down in the flooded creek. Two loud cracks, and then quiet. Right after that I heard more. Come to find out it was my "favorite" neighbor teen who decided this was a good time to blow some type of firework. It wasn't a firecracker. I went out with a flashlight to see what was going on. Then I smelled the gun powder or whatever it was that he decided to cut loose with. My dogs were barking their heads practically off. I am ready for November 1st to arrive quickly!
