I thought I read that Serendipity was a accident that had a good result?.;)

Imagine that. I wonder how they came up with the name. ;)

Yep. And LEGEND (see what I did there?) has it that it was our very own @Bronze who named it. And he still had time to cure the shutdown. Is anyone else as amazed as I am?!? ;)

Brother in Law passed away last night. Four heart attacks (that I know of) and advanced bone cancer.
Mamaw is in Bluefield with her sister. We think they were married between 45 and 50 years. Viewing is Sunday, Service is Monday. I get to watch the mutts for the weekend, then drive up Monday morning for the service.
I think this is the first of our generation in my wife's family. Leaves a wife, daughter, son and three grandkids behind.

Brett, I'm sorry for your family's loss. That's rough to make it through so many heart attack's only to wind up with bone cancer.

I am glad I didn't have liquid in my mouth when I read this! My keyboard would be trashed!!!

I'm totally passing this one along.
No fan of the stoic Bill Belicheck but he cracked me up one day when he was referring to social media (that he knows nothing about) as Snapface.

Don't do that. If you don't like it, save it and mix it with something else. Legend makes a great ingredient for mixing with other e-liquids.

As BK would say, mix it into Legendary Dragon! I can attest to how good that is. Legendary Booty is delicious too. Then there's Legendary Dragon's Booty. The possibilities are endless.

@CMD-Ky - be sure to give Legend lots of aging time. IMO it's best with at least 2 months age on it.

tell ya what... writing was an artform back then.. they took pride and time to compose a letter, the perfect penmanship, keeping the words straight ( as like if it was on an invisible line)... the additional artwork created in the margin, each and every letter executed in a fine and exacting manner....

would probably take "us" several hours to recreate something like this.... and they did this with quills or nib style pens... and the paper, you wont find quality paper like this old stuff anywhere, its almost like a super thin leather.... I wonder if they wrote letters only during the day...cuz at night they would be doing it by "candle light"...

A library close to us has a facsimile edition of "The Book of Kells". They keep it on display and turn the pages every so often. Even though it is a copy, it is gorgeous. Now I'm gonna have to go down and see it again-thanks for reminiding me I have something like this close by!

I have never done Facebook or Twitter or any of that stuff. Always thought it would lead to trouble. Time has proven I’m right :)

I also have never given into the FB or Twitter trap.... something about it never sat well with me... o_O

kewlll.. the name at the bottom part of the page ( Perdo Laffo) was a key figure in the Spanish Civil War...
my mom told me a story about the mother ( owner of the bible) who had property between 2 mountain ridges that was a key factor in a war in Spain... she was very sketchy on the details... soooo... this book seems to be printed as a one of for her sons.... cant find too much info on Thomas, but there is oodles of stuff on Pedro...

I sent an Email to a local book dealer/appraiser along with the picture of the seconds page... hope he responds... this is becoming interesting.. :)

dayum... just thinking... if the date is the printing date, then I have a book that is 415 yrs old...

think I NEED to get this book appraised soon!!

What is interesting about this date is that it precedes the Bible format that most of us are used to, aka the King James version, which wasn't "in the works" till 1604. Unfortunately, it is shocking that many old books are appraised at a lesser value than some cruddy little plastic Star Wars thing that was given away free in a Happy Meal, or some such similar.

Good Morning Army. Easing into Saturday Coffee...

Geez, sounds like suffering to me Pops. Poor guy. Were these heart attacks recently?

One. about 20 years ago his CDL-A License was taken after his third heart attack. Recently, it was the bone cancer that was taking him down. About a year ago, he was working under the hood of the car when his arm just broke, and that's when they found the cancer. But by then it was too far gone.
