Hope you like the St Bernardus. I get it in the pint bottle.. Picked up a bottle of Saison Dupont Farmhouse Ale to try yesterday. Have to see if I like this style. Saison Dupont | Brasserie Dupont sprl

ended up with a 4 pack of 12 ounserz :) you were right... they are a bit pricey tho... the 4 pack was 23$.
but they are awesomely good... reminds me of Chimay with a bit of hop bite at the end... Im really enjoying this one too much. :)
While I was in Huntsville, I also snagged some New Belgium Trippel ( getting ready to try it right now).....

that was tasty.. a bit heavier than St Bern, tad bit more hop, lots of malt and caramel... :)

Move to Guatemala, renounce your US citizenship, walk back into the US and claim asylum and you will get all the healthcare you want with no paperwork requirements. :)

Seriously.... you are soooo correct in this.

Smart Cars are awesome things... BUT DONT EVER let them run low on water.... my poor beloved baby bit the dust today.... toasted the engine. The overtemp lite ( idiot lite) didnt even come on... I started to notice a bit of power loss and then BAM! went from 68 to 58 in a hurry... made the slide off of the hiway onto the shoulder and the engine died, get out and check the water tank for the coolant and.... empty, uhoh... walk around back and UHOH!!! water dripping from the rear of the engine ( wayyyyy to far back from "where it should be dripping from" )
cut the hose from the windshield washer tank and placed it into the radiator tank and "refilled" the radiator tank. tried to start the engine and NADA! No compression, no fire .... uhhh warped the head possibly??? More UHOHHhhh.. walked around to the back again and ...yup a nice puddle of radiator fluid on the ground.. dayum o_Oo_Oo_O:grr::grr::cry::cry::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:.
YUP!! warped head, maybe even worse, wont know till I do some in depth surgery, but the engine oil was basically toast, burnt, nasty, thin.... not a good thing. :(
So, I called my manager and ruined his weekend .... he told me that this really messed up his weekend off ( having to finish off my run) and I was like White Turkey Feathers???? Its gonna cost me 425$ to tow my baby to the house and then spend gawd knows how much to fix it... sheesh... probably another 1000$ easily.... and that just for parts... dont even want to figure out how much will be "lost" taking time off to do the rebuild... minimum of 3 days??? possibly 5 days depending how severe it got trashed....

Soooo... in general... my day didnt go well... but, my Wifey still loves me... she even wanted to come to where I broke down ( which was about 50 miles from the house) with a couple of "cold ones"... and a car with AC... to wait in until the Tow Truck got there.... and then make the drive back to the house.... :) I thanked her profusely for the offer but told her to stay at the house...

and there will be more on this saga as time goes on... probably alot of fussin about hard to find parts, busted knuckles, too much heat and humidity....

time for a St. Bernardus and some Zen Time.... oooooohhhmmmmmm ;)

Can you just find another engine and drop it in there?

uuughhhh... time to do research on Smart Car engine rebuild... really not looking forward to this... but its got to be done.

I hate working on cars. Don’t envy you.

I may get my chance. Jeep AC is messed. I think it’s the evaporator. Gotta rip the seats, console, and dash out of the thing. I’d consider swapping jobs with you if I had the option.

Would be quicker then you can do a rebuild on the shot engine on your bench without the stress of having to hurry. Then you have a backup engine.

well I do have the previous engine from the Wifeys car to use but it had some issues also ( think it had a burnt valve) need to pull the head and see if its was a burnt valve or "what".... could do a rebuild on that one and swap out the whole motor carriage ( new head etc instead of ALL bearings ( crank, connecting rods, wrist pins etc)... but its gonna take some visual inspection to determine the extent of damage in the "older" engine to make that assumption as far as repairs are concerned.... hopefully the older engine has just a burnt valve ( due to cyl #2 blowing oil) and nothing else... if thats the case, a "Simple head replacement" will fix it) but still... a cylinder head for the motor is costly.... If Im lucky, I can get away with just replacing the valve, valve spring, and valve seat... but knowing my Karma, its not going to be that nice...

the Wifey just informed me that I can use her car for a "Limited Time Offer" to keep my "work up to par" ( her words) (( in other words... keep making the Mooh Lah)) o_O

ohhhh the pressure

lol.... they always say "when things get tough, the tough get going".... why hasnt she left yet.... ;)

Could be worth a try digging into the old engine. Decent chance that would be quicker and less costly.

Going by what I saw on a video. The console has to come out and I think the seats have to come off to get the console out. Need to research it more. Haven’t even looked at it yet.

Can you use the head on the current engine to replace the head on the old engine or are the bad heads on the same side or otherwise incompatible?
Im pretty sure the the "present" engine is totally FUBARed, and the older but newer miles engine with just the "burnt valve" is the answer.... it wants to run but burns oil... the "present" engine has no compression what so ever at all.... so Im gonna consider it toasted... theres gonna be alot of disassembly of motors in the next couple of weeks to be sure... o_O

Yeah, sounds like that engine is KIA. Maybe could get a few parts off it at best. Just got to thinking it’s a single head engine, huh?
