Hi, everyone! @Pappy - I'm so glad you are all safe! I haven't seen the news for a few days. Had no idea. How awful for all involved.

Just returned from seeing the new Star Wars. It was well done. We got discounted seats through our friend's work place. Reserved seats on wide recliners! Almost as good as seeing it in your living room as far as seating comfort. I hardly ever go to theaters, but a film like that is worth seeing on the big screen. Had a great time.

All warm officially gone here. Someone needs to tell sassy just how much mommy is not a morning person, especially when it's cold.

Morning y'all, hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had a lot of lovely times, just overwhelmed and exhausted from it all. Definitely got spoiled this year more than I expected :) then last night I got my car stuck in a muddy ditch, so I'm hoping to talk the hubs into spoiling one more time for a 4wd.

Xoxoxo everyone. Glad it's all over so I can come hang out again :)

We went from extremely warm weather down to the high 30's right now. Tonight will be around freezing. The wind chill is worse, because it is very windy. My dog loves it. My son's dog is not a fan. He is a smooth haired dog, and he is old. I filled his dog house with fresh straw. I will bring both of them in after while. I mainly feed them outside. They spend as much time outdoors during the day, as they can. After supper though, they are both in for the evening. I like to bring them in for an extended nap for bad weather though. My dog at this point is not afraid of storms. I am very happy about that, and I hope it stays that way. My last dog was terrified of storms. Any thunder whatsoever, no matter how far off would freak her out. She didn't like heavy rain, or high wind either. She knew it was often a sign of thunder.

I am soooo relieved the storm has passed here. The water was almost as high as I had ever seen it here. But I didn't go out later before bed to see how high it actually was. This morning it has receded. I was shocked at how cold it was this morning, and that it was so windy. Later today I will pass by the river, and see where the level is. My friends have land out on the river, and they are going to move there before too long. Their house though, will be built way up high, away from the water's edge.

This heavy rain and twisters are moving over a large swath of the country.

So I wander into the eye joint to pick up some spectacles they ordered for me a few weeks back. The place was packed. I check in and the check-in chick points to an empty chair across the room and tells me to have a seat there. No problem. I set myass in the chair and a couple minutes later some woman tells me I stole her daughter's chair. The go-with-the-flow" sorta guy I am said I was sorry and got out of her chair. I wander back to the check-in chick and told her I got kicked out of my chair. So she points to another chair and says to sit there and she'll fit me in the next slot. No problem. Park myass in that chair and go to minding myself. A few minutes later a woman walks in with what looked to be about a 10 year old boy. Clearly had Downs or a similar condition. He sees me sitting there and proceeds to stand right in front of me and has a full scale meltdown screaming his head off at me demanding I give him his chair back. The woman grabs the child to settle him down. The go-with-the-flow sorta guy I am I tell her, "M'am, I just got kicked out of another chair so one more makes no matter to me". She insists I not move and she took the boy to another chair on the other side of the room. I go back to minding myself. About five minutes later, here comes the boy again and he sets hisass on my lap and is laughing and playing with his iPad. I says to him, "Five minutes ago you hated my guts and now we're pals? You're not gonna turn on me again are you? He looks at me and says, "Happy New Year", just as the woman grabs him again apologizing profusely. I finally got helped and the woman and boy left. Strange visit to the eye joint.

It felt like it too. The lady sitting next to me (in the second chair) was filling out her papers and had observed the entire musical chairs game and was laughing so hard she had to put her hand over her mouth from spitting all over her forms. I think she might have wet herself.
