Well crud. Had a chiropractor appointment at 9:30 and a hearing test at 11:00. Went to start the truck to defrost the window and the battery said I'm not working today it's too cold. So first appointment moved to next week and charger on the battery so I can get a new one before the 11:00. Guess it's better it didn't happen on a work day.

The convenience of a Big Rig - GAUGES ! Warning Lights (or Idiot Lights) only come on when there is already a problem. One of the things I do not like about the modern automobile is the lack of information displayed about the vehicle itself. You can surf the web, make phone calls, navigate, etc... all while something is beginning to wear out under the hood.
Welcome to the "Age of Information".

Good morning army!

Somehow managed to lose another 5 lbs in the last two weeks despite eating my weight in cookies. Puppy has definitely had a hand in that though, she keeps me from sitting more than 12 seconds at a time haha
must be ruff for you when it comes time to go to the bathroom... ;)

Well $130 for a new Interstate battery so I'm good for a while. The old one 5 years old so it was time. And I still need hearing aids. But I already knew that. I'm about the same level as my last test a year ago so that's good. Now I have to join Costco and come up with $1800 for the aids. Should be able to do that in a couple weeks or so.
New Years Eve I got the beginning of a cold. Been fighting it and so far it a draw. The cold isn't getting worst but it's no going away. I don't feel bad just a scratchy throat and some sneezing. Time for some Crown Royal shots and a few beers.

No offence intended, but the 'warm' feeling of a few Adult beverages is an illusion - Ethyl Alcohol consumption actually lowers the body temperature. And the immunity system.
But it makes you feel a bit better (or rather you don't care that you don't feel good)

True but it works for me even if it doesn't. o_O And as Robin said I don't care as much.:pervy:

Geez, those hearing aids are expensive. And I'm guessing the batteries aren't cheap either.

Batteries last about 5 days for the ones I'm looking at. That's one for each aid. Batteries aren't bad about $9 for a 40 count pack. And that price isn't so bad. It's Costco's brand. The ENT wanted me to spend $3400 last year. From everything I've looking at Costco is the place to go for hearing aids. I do have to become a member but that's only $55 a year. Hearing aids are not cheap and the average life span is about 5 years.

We had some Yahoo a few years back who was blowing off a civil war canon. Rocked the entire neighborhood. Cops nailed him. Not cool even in redneckland.

Awww, c'mon . . . . I think that's at least a little cool!

I remember going to VMI [Va. Military Institute] football games as a girl; whenever VMI scored a touchdown, they'd fire off the cannon!! (Yes, a gen-u-ine Civil War cannon it were! :D)

My New Year's resolution is to lose about 20-30 pounds, but still keep the same beer consumption. A man can only give up so much...

Heh. Good luck with that!

Congrats on the house, Lori!

And Happy New Year, All . . . . :2cool:

It's probably like a lot of things. If you're careful with them they'll last a bit. If not, they wont. The battery cost isn't as much as I thought it would be.

I thought it was cool too but he was near neighborhoods. Freaked out a lot of people. Cats and dogs were not happy either.

Happy New Year El. Hope you have a great 2016!

Sitting on top of a diesel engine for an extended period of time has been known to have such an effect on a person.
or next to one.... worked offshore as a stationary engineer for about 8 years... aka I baby sat diesel engines running at full rpm for 12 hrs a day 7 days a week.... some of those engines were 32 cylinder monsters that would barely fit into an 18 wheeler trailer.. no wonder why my ears ring 24/7 ;)

Afternoon Army!

Day six of the funeral rights. Tomorrow is the cremation and that's an all day thing - feeding the monks in the morning and then the cremation in the afternoon around 5. The last thing we do is pick up the remains on Tuesday.

I'll be glad when it's all over. Tiffanie and her aunt will be here for another week before they go back to the States. May get some father daughter time in - see a movie or something. :)

All the best with that Chak. How's Mama holding up? It surely helps to have sister and daughter in town I hope.
