Purely cosmetics this time. Painted part of the left side. 75% of the flaws were relegated to 15% of the truck so I repainted it. Turned out real nice for an amateur. I’m also doing a compound, polish, and wax. Never compounded my truck so it needs it bad.

I did finally (hopefully) fix my fluctuating voltage problem that has lingered since October. I’d “fix” it only for it to return. Several times over.

I was using aftermarket voltage regulators so I searched for an OEM. They don’t make the one I need but I found some NOS OEMs. (New Old Stock). These regulators were made in the 70s n 80s but never used. So I snarffed one up and it works beautifully so far. Way better than the aftermarket crap.

Pretty darn impressive work there! If you’re gonna do a thing, do it right.
Exactly. I was ready to start compounding my newly painted portion of the truck when I backed off and realized the orange peel in it was still more than I can live with. I didn't sand the clearcoat enough because I was afraid I was going to sand thru it to the basecoat and then I'd be royally screwed. That orange peel would have really bugged me (though, no one else). So I took another 3-1/2 hours sanding it down some more. Made a big difference.

    I see you know more than a little about body work.:)

    4 days off and my motivation is nil. Zero plans, may go to my sister's on monday. Son and DIL are in Gulf Shores, so I brought their dogs home with me after work yesterday. Big mix breed-Major-doesn't travel well. No food or water for 4 hours yesterday and he still got sick in my car. I have to watch him outside here as he's a roamer. He responds to the beep of a shock collar thankfully. I won't zap him unless I absolutely have to. His sniffer is gonna be worn out by Monday, lol. He's always lived in town, so all the new smells out here are super fascinating to him. Nelli-small choc lab- minds well and is no trouble. Could easily let her out without watching. We got over 6 inches of rain this past week, so I'm trying not to look at the floors until the dogs go home on Monday.
    Hope everyone has a good long weekend.

    From your posts the past months, you’ve been plenty busy. A zero motivation holiday sounds perfect for you! Well, not quite zero since you’re dog-sitting, but close.

    I can't wait. Although I told my son last night I'm such a pushover now. I never let my (late) lab on the furniture/beds. I woke up from a short nap yesterday and Nelli was on the couch napping, then Major joined in later..
    Future:
    GD: Bibi, lets make a swimming pool inside!
    me (Bibi): Sure!
    :lol::lol::lol:
