Sunny and hot here. Got a lot done and more to go. Raised bed is about 2/3 filled with oak branches and low end soil. The rest will be good soil. Then I figure out how to assemble my drip irrigation. After that I build a new veggie cage using rebar and EMT conduits. It needs to be strong so the Santa Ana’s don’t wreck it again. I am wiped out! Oh, for the energy of youth. :)

Did you get a building permit for that?

Hey kids. Gonna start my drainage pipe project. Rainwater from the driveway and a good chunk of the front yard cascades down my driveway and gouges a river bed from the bottom of the driveway, down the edge of the backyard and all the way past my firepit. It's erosion city. So I'm gonna add a drain at the bottom of the driveway and bury about 100' of pipe across the back yard to my downspout discharge in the woods. A bit of work but it has got to be done. Shoulda done it long ago.

Great idea. You don't want your nice firepit set up washing out again.

Yikes! Back-breaking work. Take lots of breaks and hydrate. It’s always something around a house.

Fun times here in the wee hours yesterday morning. The dog started going crazy around 2:20 am. We could hear a man’s voice taking constantly close to the front porch. This house sits low off of the road. Peering out we could see a guy hunkered at the base of the front bank. He was lighting up with some intense flame and we could see embers. Last thing Cali needs is a wildfire. Guy didn’t care about the dog. Just kept talking continuously.

Finally called the cops. They got here around 4 am. Guy took off. Cop came to the door and said the guy was gone and left a mess of bags and trash.

Next morning I put on gloves to go out and clean up. First thing I see is a pipe, a torch and a bunch of foil with charred residue on them. Guess the cops didn’t feel like doing another drug bust on a homeless person.
