My excuse is flavor. Yeah… yeah, that’s it.

A friend was here for a few days, and she doesn’t like tomatoes but she does love fried green tomatoes. Even though it hurt my heart to do it, I harvested the few green Momotaros and one green of the heirloom beefsteak variety. Found a recipe and made panko crusted fried green tomatoes. She loved them! Turns out those tricky Momotaros are delicious when green and fried.

Now I get to see how well the garden survives in a stretch of 100+ degree days. This has been a brutal season.

Wont be any big deal here Fran. It’s far enough away not to be any major threat. We’ll just get some nice rain out of it. People along the coast might have trouble as that thing exits land and picks up speed again once it’s over water.
