So now the parents of that child who was dragged around by that silverback is being sent death threats.
You just can't win these days, if they didn't kill that monkey and the child was hurt, there would be people complaining about that! Personally I think the parents were irresponsible but unfortunately I think they did the right thing by shooting the ape. I believe that a zoo will be a thing of the past in 20 years time, which is kind of a bummer. People just don't take their own responsibility anymore, it's always someone else's fault .

You're right about that. Yes, the parents messed up. But I have to believe there isn't a parent alive who hasn't lost track of their child more than once. They're slippery little things and have a way of wandering off. This was just a sad event where it is hard to find fault with anyone....including the silverback. What a beautiful animal and very sad. Just an unfortunate situation.

Agreed for sure, it's hard to blame anyone here..... what might be weird now , is that every parent might be putting leashes on their kids at zoo's. So leashed humans, roaming animals

LOL. Some kids should probably be leashed up at home too. :)

Like you said, kids are slippery and have a mind of themselves but I can tell you it was different with my folks. There is no way I could if done that when I was a kid, if my old man or mom said stick with me, I would. In fact my dad would of smacked me hard before we would arrived there and told me , "that's just incase you think about doing anything wrong" . It's just a different Era now.

Oh yeah, totally different. They were a whole hell of a lot stricter back in the day. And as a result it was amazing how well behaved we were. We knew one step out of line and we were gonna be hurtin'. :)

hmm non attentive parents, poorly designed restrictive access, undisciplined kid, bored gorilla, yup a recipe for an issue...
parents not keeping an eye on the kid who went beyond the fence which should/could have been made better.. the gorilla, well he was just being what he was... so, where was the fault?? Obviously the Zoo has been operating for quite some time with no previous incedents of said nature, so the present restrictive access was sufficient ( until now) but one should always design for the what if senerio... maybe a double moat ( 1 to keep the animal in and another to keep people from getting in.

Maybe this accident was destined to be a wake up call for the parents to pay better attention...
and I wonder if the kid will ever go back to a Zoo or will cringe when watching National Geographic Specials on Gorillas? ;)

Which flavor did you christen it with?

Personally I've always believed that zoo fences are to protect animals from halfwits, not the other way round….Sorry, but in my book, the mother is a d-bag.
I'm not so quick to blame mom. Yes, she screwed up but this was not the first child that was able to wander off from their mom. They're good at it. :)

Good Morning Army. Up early, going to the Mountains today.
Climb the Gap, through Boone, go to Grandfather mountain and turn right, and 10 more miles and I'm there. Little tourist trap called Banner Elk.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)
Beech Mountain. Been there.

I'm sure he will be forever affected, but he looked pretty darn brave in that video. Maybe he was in shock, but he kind of looked very calm and collected.

Pouring rain here again. They are calling for rain, and sometimes heavy downpours for the rest of the week. I think my state has had more than enough rain. Poor Houston is seeing more rain right now. It is hard to believe it was just a couple of years ago we had such a severe drought, with wildfires everywhere.

GEEK !!!! NEED GEEK !!! HELP ! GEEK !!!!
So I am looking at the ECF after "red X" the annoying Windows 10 pop-up...
And Win 10 starts installing itself!
%@#¥£€!&%#...and a whole lot more.
I immediately pressed and held the on button, unplugged and removed the battery from my laptop.
Is there a way to remove Bill Gates ENTIRELY from my laptop ? I think Gary was posting something about 'linus'....

Yup , it's easily done if you have a dvd burner , you'll need software capable of burning an image file . I'll link you up , if you need help shoot me a PM . Best move I made with this computer was dumping Windows and going to Linux .
    Download - Linux Mint
