Sounds good. ...yup. it's a whole different OS.
But don't worry, it can play your music, videos, browse the web, open your docs and so on.
It has Office (LibreOffice instead of M$ Office) and basically everythig the every-day user needs. (And much more)
However, if you rely on some special Windows-only software - or just to be safe for a start - you can keep Windows next to Linux. You can then decide which OS to run every time you turn on your PC/Notebook/Whatever.
Great to hear that Linux finally makes it in the "mainstream PC users" world. To me, being a software developer for as long as I can think, Linux is normal since the nineties. I've really lost touch to Windows since version 7 or so. XP was the last Win I (had to) used productively.
And now, my relatives think I'm stoopid 'cause I can't help them with their everyday Windows problems any more. "you da PC wizz, you always been. You just don't want to help"![]()
