Waking up for nap, driving all night for two successive nights can make you do things like that. Getting ready to set Mamaw's car up on ramps and do an oil change before she goes for annual inspection. That Taurus is 12 years old and has 160,000 + miles on it. She has gotten her monies worth, that's for sure.
Lots of trips to the supermarket.

Crock Pot roast beast, Garden fresh Potatoes & Carrots, Battered and Fried Summer and Zucchini Squash picked from Garden earlier today.
Oil Changes are worth it !

Edit : Add sliced Fresh Cucumber and Sweet Bread (Jiffy Mix Corn Bread). With some cold sweet tea to wash it all down.
No way I will ever loose weight married to this woman.

Greetings all from sunny Las Vegas! Decided it was time for a trip back to check up on our home. Good thing too. The AC is on the fritz. Sound familiar, Bronze?

We got in around 2 am. Outside temp was 90. Inside about 93. Managed to sleep in the heat and spend the day waiting for the HVAC guys to get here. It's 110 outside now. Still 93 inside. They build places around here to absorb less heat from outside.

Praying they get here soon. And fix it quickly. We haven't been able to leave and get into some AC because we're waiting for them. It's an adventure! And too darn hot to even vape. :)

I would say "Shade Tree", but there aren't too many trees in the desert, are there ?

Not too many. In the desert the ground absorbs the heat and sends it right up at you. So even if there were shade trees, it wouldn't be a good idea to be out there.

I do have ice packs to put on my head though. And I am.

I can relate Ms. Lori. Just glad I didn't have to hire a tech. They bend you over just to knock on your front door.

Good luck lori, hope you get the ac up asap. I love (and kinda hate) vegas, but w/o ac in the summer it must be hell :/

An' chakris, since you're a mac guy...it's still a pain, but there's an on-screen-keyboard in mac os. You can type with your mouse...
Although i love how you avoid your dead keys, so forget about that :D

I do hope they hurry. We would have humidity on top of that, which would would feel miserable. But I have been told desert heat causes rapid dehydration, so please drink lots of water while you are waiting....

You are so right. We went through almost 2 gallons of water since last night. The pressure of that heat was intense.

We were very fortunate! Steve from Deke's AC came by. Honest, decent guy whose dad started the business. The main drain had overflowed a bit and triggered the secondary drain safety valve. $85 for a same day service call! So relieved.

It's exactly what I imagine hell to be like. :) I grew up in high humidity, but this stuffy heat inside was bad. Still I'd pick dry heat over humidity. As long as there's AC to escape too.

One word "Pool"

Two words work better for me: cold shower. :)

do yall use AC's or those evaporative coolers?
where I live the evaporative coolers wont work... humidity is too hi
and.. down here ( Nola) there are only 2 things we have to worry about... a working AC and a leak proof roof... everything else is not an issue ;)

Botox... one of the most poisonous toxins from a biological source.... and people use it for vanity...
but it does have some real uses too...

so a stuffed drain killed the AC??? probably stuck his finger in the drain hole to fix the issue... ;)
guess its not what one does but what one knows.....
