I had a wonderful evening... I got a call at 12:30am... had to make a run to Lafayette ( ummm right into the storm), rained from LaPlace to Lafayette going and on the way back from Lafayette to Baton Rouge... torrential downpours... they even shut down I-10 in Baton Rouge due to flooding the interstate... a 125 mile ride ( one way) turned into 166 miles due to the detours needed to circumvent the flooded roads... so at this point, Ive already driven 330 miles and been awake for 8 hours... its gonna be a long day, still have 8 more hours of standby to cover...

knee is still keeping her quiet... the 3 falls she had didnt do her any good as far as healing quickly... but other than that she "seems" to be in a better mood... :)
My buddy is improving. Been 11 days since his knee replacement and he's starting to get around half decently. Just got the incision re-dressed for the first time yesterday. She sent me a photo of it and it doesn't look too bad. He gets in-home PT every other day and that hurts him but overall he's doing pretty good.

Looks like New Orleans is mostly through with the storm. I hope it goes out to sea, and doesn't mess anything else up. We missed the rain last night. Usually I'd be sad if we lost rain in August. Considering what is supposed to be on the way, I'm glad it didn't hit here. The drier the ground, the easier it is to flash flood in a downpour though. It is gonna really cool down here by tomorrow, I am happy about that!!!!!!! It will still be hot today, but not as hot as it was yesterday. Yesterday was BRUTAL.

Yup, hard to keep a good woman down. Sue's had a couple of falls also, once from the bed and once out of the wheel chair. The one out of the chair happened when she tried to navigate one of the many ramps around the house by herself. She veered too far to one side and ended up in the garden bed. If she'd gone the other direction she'd have ran into the steps to the front porch.

That's one thing missing in Mama's routine, PT. I try to do what I can, but she's a stubborn ol' broad. She turned down the free PT from the local health care facility too! :-x Grr

Man jumps from his boat to rescue woman trapped in her car in flood

I just read this story concerning Louisiana flooding. David Phung and his two friends were heroes!! After reading some news lately, it warms the heart to see others put themselves at risk, to help strangers.

Everyone should keep one of these on their key chain. I have one. No, I don't own stock in the company...lol. It cuts seat belts, and breaks windows too.

Hi everyone! Been super crazy busy with work and our friend's home renovations. Supervising reno's is not for weenies. Robin, you have my prayers for smooth going on your construction.

Glad knees and hips are healing. Retic, BK and Kkay (if it comes your way) - stay safe!

Now I must go back to working on the new age verification system for HHV. The HHVSUMMER10 sale is extended to next Sunday night - sooooo... get more juice! ;)
