My latest (sort of indulgent) purchase is a new bluetooth headset to use for calls. I can't tell you how many I've been through over the years that ended up being a fail. Recently I just kept it simple with the Apple earbuds that came with my phone. Even wired in they cut out and people can't hear me. Grrr.

This one is a similar model to one my friend had. We were talking and I had to comment because she sounded like she was in the room with me. Finally able to grab one. It's a business expense, and my fingers are crossed on it.

I hate it when people can't hear me. And I need my hands free to type when I'm on calls with clients.

Maybe I should just use my landline.

Spent the day with my high needs friend. I love her, but man... she's so insecure and needs so much lifting up... just wish she could see her worth and be content. Makes me grateful for where I am in life.

I'm also worn out!

Good Morning Army. Easing into coffee, leaving out later this morning for Alliance, OH.
Lori, most truckers use Blue Dragon headsets. They are not cheap, but they are durable, with noise reduction. I can't help but chuckle when I see them in the Truck Stop ; Over weight , poorly groomed, work boots, blue jeans, greasy t-shirt, old ball cap and a $100 headset !

I have never questioned HHV liquids, even the ones I didn't like, but....

This Atomic Grasshopper (Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream) has way too much Koolada. It's all I can taste. Maybe give it a week or two....
EDIT ; Koolada is an additive that produces a 'cold feel' in your mouth. It is used in ice cream and milkshake flavors.

hence the part of the name.... Atomic

Wonderful! And yes, the joys of living rural. Everything is a long, long drive away. I'm glad it was something simple. You have a great bike mechanic there - super reasonable rates.

I was super pleased with the mechanic. He took it right away, we watched and waited for a few minutes while he tightened a cable. And he didn't judge me on the age/wear of my bike.

Oh, I soooo want a new one. But it isn't a good time for that with 2 high school seniors and 1 starting college!

April, idk how you do that with your friend. I do not have the patience for those.

The fam comes home from their camping trip today. Can't wait for the mountain of laundry.. It looks like rain off and on all day today. Going to straighten up the garage and barn, hopefully I can squeeze in a run between rain storms.

I've been on an iced coffee kick this summer. Going to borrow a friend's french press today and see how I like it. I need a good coffee grinder, I've only got a crappy electric one that grinds uneven. Off to Amazon.. Y'all have a great day!

@76bridget She wasn't like this when i first met her 12 yrs ago. She's shy and overweight and got pretty screwed over by her ex. Single mom with 2 young boys. She has 3 other friends that she's close to and we rotate her when she's like this!

Good morning.

Slept 10(!) hours. Musta needed it. Feel a bit out of it today. Maybe too much sleep. I think the cumulative effects are starting to show. Had to take off my wedding ring set. Didn't know if I'd be able to get it off. It was a struggle but it's off.

Gonna take it easy today and get fluids in me.

Sundays are usually the blah day after disconnecting. Tomorrow I'll start bouncing back.

I have a conical burr grinder that I bought in 2012 that is amazing. It has been used daily and it's still going strong. It's not cheap though - but that makes it durable.

Here's a tip for deep coffee flavor in a French press:

1) Pour the hot water over the grounds and let it sit for at least one minute. That allows the CO2 in the beans to escape. Smooths out the flavor!

2) Stir the water and grounds for 30 seconds. Releases the rest of the gases and enhances the steeping.

3) Put the press lid on and wait 7 mins.

Even people who are casual drinkers notice the difference.

You and your friends are doing a lovely thing for your friend. I hope she can hear you. Like Bridget, I no longer have a lot of time or emotional energy for such interactions. If the person makes it clear they don't want to listen and just want to complain, I move on. I've had too many who are like that.

I spent a fortune on vehicle repairs last year. I even got a new clutch put on. Well I noticed the clutch start squeaking in less than a years time. Took it to the dealership. They say I need a new clutch fork, and it doesn't come with a new clutch job. Price tag for repair is almost 700.00, I kid you not. They say they have to remove transmission to put a new clutch fork on. I've seen a few videos, and none of them need to have the transmission removed. I'm pretty ticked. The vehicle is quite old, but I cannot get a newer one. I'm going to find out if they are telling the truth about the transmission removal or not.
I finished watching Daredevil last night. My son got me to watch it. So I finished the 1st season thinking that was it for a while. I didn't realize there was a second season already. I was surprised to find I did like the show...but I had to warm up to it a little bit. My son will be pleased to know I liked it.

Yep, generally true. I've been unlucky! I've known several - some of whom were clients - who were nearly as emotional as women. If someone needs help and a compassionate listener, I am truly willing. When they just want to remain in self-pity and their anger at perceived mistreatment, that's when I'm out.

At a certain point hearing toxic stuff over and over becomes abuse. I'm no longer willing to endure that. Life is too short AND too long for that.

3 kuerigs, one ninja, 1 cheapo, 1 French press... 5 coffee makers I've broken since moving into my house 3 years ago. ..
Me and my wife have used two french presses for the past year but it's time for the 6th... Wish me luck.
