I had to look that up. That is rough sounding alright. I was in a car wreck when I was about 23 or 24. I had whiplash, the real deal. It was about 3 days before I had any pain though, which was strange. I wore that stupid looking neck brace. I don't think it did any good. I was in severe pain for a year with it. The military doctors only gave me pain killers, and did nothing else. Once the year was up, they even took that away. The pain was so bad I couldn't stand it.

So I started to see a chiropractor. Luckily I got a good one. I had limited movement in my neck. We started sessions 3 x a week at first. I still had pain for a while, but it got better. After my x-rays and all the tests they do, he said it is a good thing you came to me. Your neck was so bad that you would be throwing up from the pain, when you got older. I saw him for almost a year, and I was much better.

Sometimes I have no pain in the neck, and sometimes I have a good deal of pain. It comes and goes. I do know the feeling of pain everyday, and it will drive you crazy. People just don't understand unless they have dealt with it. I still have limited range in my neck. I think it is full blown arthritis, and has been for a good while. I am sure it is nothing compared to what you've dealt with. I can handle some pain too, so if I say I hurt my family believes me.

The only time I've gone to the hospital for pain was for a terrible back ache. I felt stupid going but the pain became unbearable. Come to find out it was kidney stones. I deal with those periodically. Anyway Opinionated, I am so sorry you are having this issue. Look up Dit Da Jow. I have used that with success as well. A friend of mine used to make it. It is a secret recipe that was given to him. He cannot get all of the ingredients anymore. I have a small jar that I use for emergencies. Never put it on a cut, or get it in your eye, or you will be sorry! Do some research on it. I don't know if it is good for your particular problem though. Look into it, if you want to. If you think you want to try it, talk to your doctor.

Sometimes we don't want to know things. I was friends with the nurse at the pain clinic when I found out I had crps. The diagnosis was a second opinion diagnosis from one of the best doctors in the country. His diagnosis was quick and dirty, and he never once explained what I had, just said you have crps and walked away, setting me up for treatments at the pain clinic, ordered prescriptions etc etc . .

Well, the appointment at the pain clinic was the next morning and overnight I had decided that I would just have Susan explain to me the diagnosis. When I went to the pain clinic she walked in the room with tears in her eyes, and very gravely she said, you have crps. Because of the tears in her eyes I just nodded.. then she said so you know there is no cure right? That this is for the rest of your life... then she started crying..

Well hell if what I had was so bad to make her cry for me, then I sure as hell didn't want to know what it was! I never asked as a result, it took me 6 months to get up enough courage to actually look it up and find out more about the disease..

Hahaha. I was chicken.

But, while sometimes it's hard to find the courage to become informed, I think it's worse not knowing at all.. I think the feeling of fear that came over your hubby was same as Susan's tears for me. But in the end, it's better that WE know, and that we dig up that courage to face it, what ever it is.

In the end as you said, what he saw was before all the treatments. . Let's be positive and face a positive future. There is a fight - and you can't fight an enemy you don't know.

I don't use anything on my legs due to the extreme sensitivity caused by the crps. But I do use creams and heat (heating pad) for my lower back.

Sorry to hear about your neck. Don't get me started on military doctors.. I dont much care for them either..

I'll look into that cream you spoke of for my back though! Sounds promising!

I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to see in the scans. Better to look at them with someone that can actually tell me what I am looking at. ;)

I'm prepared. I tend to figure things out when I am ready to face whatever I may discover. Takes a minute or two to get there :p

Poor KKay and Opin. You've both had bad hands dealt to you in health matters. {{{}}}} to you both, and anyone else who wants one....... Funny thing you should mention kidney stones. I managed to snag an appointment with my doc late this afternoon (I think it's because a lot of folk find they're not feeling so bad on Friday afternoons lol) and there were traces of blood in a test they had me do. He decided to have that run when I mentioned the pain was now going through from my back to the front and radiating to the hip. See.....! Drs KKay and Opin were already there. I got painkillers and everything is juuuuuust dandy .... still have pain, but Im juuuust dandy :D

Good Morning Army. Mamaw says I sound better this morning, although I couldn't tell. Still hacking and wheezing, but at least the body aches are starting to subside. I cannot wait to be rid of this virus.
Five years of vaping mechs, and I dropped a spring for the first time last night. Maybe I just need to buy some more 18350 batteries for my VV Grand and VV Woodvil. They are 'old tech', but at least they are regulated.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Oh wow... so glad you got to the doctors! Did he prescribe something to help break up the stones as well?

And yeah, that's the thing with many pain meds. They don't kill the pain but they sure do make you happy to be in pain! Hahaha

I do hope your feeling better very soon! Hugs to you!
