Was thinking about taking my brew and running it through my 2 micron filter just to see what happens.
There is only one ideology to which I subscribe, its primary belief and primary product is liberty. In the land of the free and the home of the brave, I am a member of a dying breed.
Speaking of which, I fear that Retired1 will soon arrive deleting posts he finds offensive and letting us know that liberty ends at the portal to the ECF. We could take it to the "outside" but I have been found too offensive and hurtful to go there and have been forever banned.
The Outside changes people. Typically not for the better.Just before I posted, I remembered that we aren’t in Kansas anymore. Had to stop and re-read to make sure I wasn’t crossing any lines. Life is so many rules and so little ability to avoid triggering someone.
It’s very hard to picture you being ungentlemanly. You must have a side I’ve not seen, eh? Glad you’re still hanging out here though.

Well, LA, I must confess that on rare occasion, when faced by the band of jackals inhabiting the Outside, my ancient reptilian brain may have userped control over my more modern cortex.
Remember, in our world, your right to speak freely ends where someone else's feelings begin.
Before that statement triggers any moderator, I fully recognize that this is Smoky Joe's playground and he gets to set the rules. I would prefer that the rules be equally applied rather than differentially applied. However, in no case do I have to financially support the differential enforcement of his rules. Consequently, I will end my 'supporting member' status at its re-newal time.

When you add the “correct speech” dogma, it gets so much worse. Feels to me sometimes like all the world is someone else’s playground and I don’t understand the rules.
Only if you allow them the opportunity to gain some sense of superiority. Telling them "£π#¥ #¢÷π" usually sends them on their way, although the ECF frowns on telling some people exactly what they need to hear.
Me too. No use for it. Or facebook.Kinda like Twitter, no? That place is such a sewer. I'm glad I never signed up for it.

Although personally I could wish that particular jackazz a one way ticket. So anyhow, most of us likely saw clips of that Virgin Galactic. It reveals a lesson that I'm sure few people pay attention to. Capitalism works! This space adventure would never happen without rich people. In this case, a zillionaire. Soon we will see a couple more zillionaires doing similar things. Are most of these zillionaires egotistical jackasses? Yep. But irrespective of that, they are funding these crazy adventures. Or what we think are crazy adventures. As these adventures become commercialized and industrialized they will become more and more frequent and affordable (economies of scale) meaning the pace of things we learn will reach hyper-speed. What will we learn? Who knows! I'm sure many things we do not even know about. But whatever it is we learn, it is likely going to serve the populace to improve our lives (and yes, the military will use it for the opposite purpose). Just remember, this adventure would never happen without rich people. So when so many are so willing to vilify rich people, remember the means by which you vilify them likely came from an invention funded by a rich person.Wealth is a technology propellant.
I was reading through recent marketing articles. That’s not as interesting as it used to be for me, but that’s another story.
One article talked about how brands can manage comments on TikTok. Many brands just don’t allow comments because it gets too ugly. Expert marketing consultants were quoted saying, no, you have to allow comments! Just have a strategy for dealing with it. After all, Gen Z is a highly vocal segment with strong opinions that they are used to “expressing” and you mustn’t “deprive” them of that if you want them to buy your product.
Oh my. I may be too old-fashioned for my field. Then again, that particular opinion/feelings affliction has hit every generation.

Bezos goes up in his spaceship in a few weeks. Maybe it will get lost.Although personally I could wish that particular jackazz a one way ticket.
