Another lazy Saturday...
Still single (widowed) and still keeping it that way. I'm too set in my ways to start over with the dinner dates, opening doors and vague conversations,
Natasha doesn't seem to mind. 70 lbs. of spoiled rotten. And that "Farmer's Dog" food isn't cheap, but she's more muscular and definitely more energetic.
Was working par-time delivering auto parts. But I was working with someone who admitted to being Bi-Polar, and that she forgets to take her medicine. I'm not patient with physiological disorders, so I walked out of that situation.
Kids and I are still not talking. I guess Mamaw's passing away end the family circle. Still pray for them, but I'm going to just keep relaxing and enjoying my later years. Something about being in one's 60's makes one less tolerant of stress, and better to avoid any drama.
Bought a little 15' daysailer this summer, it was a fixer-upper. got just about everything set in time for winter, so maybe by Spring it'll leave the back yard.
Maybe I'll look online for "Grumpy Old Curmudgeon. com" for a Ann Margaret, Sophia Loren type widow. Or maybe I'll just go load the dishwasher and sweep the floor myself.
Probably the latter...

Hey Brett , I tried the dating thing when I was seperated from my wife . The thing is that women our age are set in their ways too . I'd been through enough crap that I wasn't willing to take orders from someone that barely knew me or even compromise my peace of mind for that matter So I walked out on several women that I dated for those reasons . If you can keep things casual for a good while it might work but finding someone that will accept those conditions ain't easy . If I ever seperate from my wife again I ain't gonna bother trying dating again . I'm too damnd cranky these days to even consider it .

I found both of your comments interesting. Sounds like at least some of the stuff are things I’d say given the same situation. I find the older I get the quieter I get. And it wasn’t like I ever talked much ever in my life. I place a very high value on peace and quiet. I really dislike answering questions or even making decisions. The phone rings and I want to throw it in the woods. I’m not sure if it’s possible to get lonely. But you know, you never know. You find someone you enjoy being around and everything changes.

they are getting to the hard part going up the roof. But it is looking good. Of work for two days for Christmas. So only three work days next week and the week after...

Well, I guess you’ll be living in that house for awhile.

Done with leaf duty for the season. Have to power wash the house next but I’ll wait for a string of nice days.

Finally got some antibiotics to knock out this infection. Tired of feeling like crap.
    Glad you feel better.

Afternoon... Had the Family gathering yesterday. Didn't know we were having it until yesterday morning. My sister forgot to tell me. It happens. Anyway had fun there. Went for my MRI this morning. It sucked but it's done. Have to make an appointment for results. But that will be after the holidays. Temps should be good tomorrow so maybe the crew will get a full day on the house. 20241221_120201.jpg

Merry Christmas ya'll ! I'm sitting here with a new pest....... errrr pet watching my every move . I had to have the little cat that was so devoted to me for 17 years put to sleep a coupla months ago , heartbraking decision . Wasn't wanting to maybe have to go through that again later on down the road with another pet but funny how crap happens . I was leaving the doctors office a coupla weeks ago and I heard tires screeching . Looked up to see this little grey cat run across 6 lanes of traffic and almost got hit twice . He made a beeline straight for me and started rubbing against my leg .I petted him and said cat you just used up 8 of your 9 lives , now go home . I went to get in the truck and before I could settle my .... in the seat he jumped in my lap . I'm like awwww crap , guess I'm stuck with you . He sleeps curled up alongside me , follows me all over the house . Guess it was meant to be . Oh well so much for me not wanting another pet .
