Big time disappointed in you here Iffy. To censor my post is one thing. To imply the I made false or misleading statements is something altogether different. If you are truly interested I will be glad to refer you to case studies the will support every statement that I made. Though I made mention of certain unmentionable substances, it was neither to support or condone the use of said substances.

Apparently you missed this:

Iffy did not censor your post, that was done by the mods. Check the notes on it again.

Don't worry, it was immortalized in its original form when I quoted it. The mods censored it because you were making drug references, which are a clear violation of the rules. Didn't you see the forum rules when you were digging up the guidelines from the DIY stuff for me? Maybe you should make reading them a priority.

It goes both ways. The Ranger was doing his job. Yes he most certainly did go over board. You have no complaint about the alcohol you new it was a rule and you willing broke it. You are not a victim there. I break rules all the time I think are silly but I also am willing to accept the consequences for breaking the rules if called on it.
You do not think what your doing is out of the norm but he must of. It was a unpleasant interaction and the Ranger could have taken a much better attitude. Im sorry both of you did not walk away feeling good about the interaction but it happens sometimes.

honestly if i didnt know anything about e-cigs or vaping.. and i see you with viles of liquid that possibly looks like drugs.. i would question as well.. give it a rest guys.. he was doing his job.. its not like the entire world now knows about vaping..

you cant expect everyone to know about vaping.. let alone try to convince a LEO that your viles of liquid is not drugs to someone with virtually no knowledge of the e-cig world.

instead of trying convince the LEO it is vaping, let him ask his questions and educate them..

Tried that, his attitude got in the way of his logic and rationale

I don't think you should be drinking in a National Park, where it clearly is posted that it is NOT allowed...Especially because children were around

You got me there, but: most people do bring alcohol into the park campgrounds (I know how that sounds, anyway), most drink some responsibly (but NOT all), and my kids were there too (I know how THAT sounds)

OTOH, the LEO was a bit rude. I am giving him some slack because it was Memorial Day, and I am sure he was extremely busy.

A BIT rude is an understatement. And no slack for just not listening. A LEO's primary job is to be attentive and listen (most Rangers are well educated and very helpful)

I may have misunderstood the OP. I assumed he was taking bottles of eliquid he had purchased from a vendor a reduced concentrations for use in the park. I assumed he was not using high-concentration nic juice to mix flavors and PG and VG into while he was in the park.

You did NOT misunderstand.

he didn't get the good stuff anyway:D, and I wish too that he could've learned something as I learned to hide my beer better:D

Depending on how ambitious you are, and how annoyed you got with the ranger, you could contact his superiors, and have him fired for incompetence and harassment.

Cigarette lighters and teaspoons can be used as illegal drug paraphernalia, and I would imagine there were a lot of people using those, but he chose to single you out?

I didn't think I did, but I wanted to grant "Mr. quote DIY guidelines" every benefit of the doubt.

Okay, that's not true. I wanted you to clarify it so I could prove he was not citing the right source for data while he was attempting (in vain) to gainsay my position.

Tell me again how a man who had his been taken is not the victim? A man who had his beer taken is always a victim!

Just kidding of course, I understand the rules :toast:

Man, stories like that about "officials" trying to throw down their authority about something they have no clue about, ticks me off. So sorry that happened to you. Maybe you send a link to this thread via email to the park ranger headquarters, and a link to vendors that have the mod you were "caught" with. They need some schoolin', for sure. Yes, they have a job to do, but when they start acting like high and mighty mall cops about something they know NOTHING about, that ticks me off.

And whoever complained about you could have politely asked you what it was before tattletaling. I mean, you're at the park with family....its not like you're a gang member or something.
