The Hussar! similar to this pic but with ultem tank

View attachment 607623

Quick question, did your hussar come with the ultem tank? I would prefer the polycarbonate but the websites that are selling the hussar appear to have an ultem tank in the picture. I'm referring to vapinart and coval vapes.

Hi there

The full kits now only come with ultem tanks now. They seem to be always doing upgrades or new versions of their gear, so who knows what will come out next. You can get the Chris Mun poly bell cap which is two pieces I think - there is also a steam tuners kit too.

That's a shame I really like the clear polycarbonate tanks. Thanks for the info though I'm still goingredients to buy. And hopefully a micro kit as well if I can find one in Stock.

Yeah I prefer the look of clear, at least the micro kits are clear - don't know if they will change to ultem in the future though??

So, I eventually got the spare tank and new orings for my ailing skyline from ESG. All well with fit and assembly. Built and vaping. Seems to have trouble with highish VG liquids (70:30). Good flavour/vapour initially but after a little while hitting temp control really quickly. Just cant get it to wick properly for some reason. JF fully open...If I put much less wick in there it will flood for sure...tried more and less, tighter/looser, bacon/muji...confused!

That sounds odd. I have 70% VG in right now. I am just doing a sort of bull-horn wick with Koh gen do, I basically do the S wick style but the tips meet at the front. I also make sure that the cotton is not packed tightly against the juice holes.

I haven't used TC yet, but I have cranked up the wattage much higher than I normally would and the wicking was great.

I am not trying to be a smart-A, I just haven't had a bad wick yet after 6 or so builds. I have seen some doing an M-wick and even some guy doing a mesh M wick that apparently was great.

FWIW I just never get a good vape with Cotton bacon, I know Mark Todd and many people love it though so I can't see it being an issue.

I know FB can be a complete PITA most of the time, but I am sure you would get great help or ideas on their page, the people all seem very friendly and haven't seen any ugly conversations.

Thanks mate! It is odd I must admit. I'll keep trying I guess. Havent had this problem for a very long time lol!! Must be losing my mojo...

I am sure you will sort it. I have the wick quite firm in the spaced coils, but I fluff and thin out a bit on the tails - which is how I always wick. I honestly don't do anything special with this atty.

I am sure you will suss it, maybe try simple kanthal and then after you are happy, go the TC??

... and I can relate to the mojo slipping LOL it happens to me every now and again and I think - what the heck have I done wrong or different, when I didn't think I had. Then I redo as normal and it is all good.

I'm sure I'll get it sorted out! It is one of those situations where I just can't see why it is a problem which always means user error!! lol!

Note to self: don't BUI (build under influence)..

...oh yeah, so, what's the conclusion? I agree with my wise colleague @Yonjuro Excellent vape, great flavour, just a bit short of the Hussar but perilously close. For an M2L, I probably prefer the Skyline at the moment but it's a tough call and i need a few more days to really be clear about this. It is my only criticism of the huss that they really need to put out a slightly tighter AF deck or adaptor, at least for me. Anyway, I'll try some other builds and juices and post back soon!

@dems86 the skyline is marginally tighter than the cloud one with AFC fully open if that helps!!

:thumbs::thumbs: Excellent! This has happened to me with or without plural beers LOL

Cheers mate, thanks for your kind words !

I know Hussar has a new "smooth AFC" which has a single opening on the ring and a different pin. Lately I have been able to almost close the AFC and get a reasonable MTL without any whistling so that feels pretty good to me.

They are always bring stuff out and a friend will be back from Poland tomorrow after meeting with them and their technical team. I think there are some new things planned. Hopefully we will be able to get these things without a major PITA

And just to put a cat amongst the pigeons - the E-Phoenix Hurricane V2 will be released next week! It comes with 3 decks! I don't think I will be able to scrape the money together for that one on release as no doubt it will cost a lot!

Supposedly more Skylines are going up this week, I got my eyes glued to the FB group waiting for an update, with random refreshes of the site lol

Yeah and they will have the new O-rings ! They are sending me and anyone who wants them (from the original batch) a new set anyway, which is great service. I haven't damaged mine, but it is a bit of a wrestle getting the deck off and on.

Yeah, pretty awesome they are sending the new o-rings to everyone, and definitely happy I'll be getting them on mine when I order it.

Yonjuro you are probably enjoying both the hussar and the skyline but which one stays on top of your mod most of the time?

Does anyone that owns a rose v3 compare it to the two attys discussed above? My current budget is for one atty and I'm really confused for which of the two should I go for.
In my opinion the Rose v3 doesn't fall in the category of Hussar and Skyline RTA's. It simply lacks the options of the Hussar and the build Quality of the Skyline, while both provide a more enjoyable vape than the Rose 3 and its ineffective AFC.

You would be better off comparing the Rose3 with the E-Phoenix Hurricane or the Squape from StattQualm.

I like to have a few different flavours going at any time. So one my three main mods I have the Hussar, Skyline and the DDP One gennie - I have the Animodz Doggy on my tube.

I had the Rose 3 the day it was released and while it produced a good flavour I found it to be a complete pain and it is one of the very few attys I sold off. Flavour on the Hussar is more intense than the Rose, the flavour on the Skyline is just as good if not better than the Rose 3, the Skyline is a far superior device in my opinion.

I also think that different tanks perform better with different flavour types of juice, for instance The Squape R(s) seems to make HHV Dragon's Fire sing, while the Hussar is better for other NETs and the Skyline is awesome with Five Pawns Queenside.
